When it comes to expensive weddings, celebrities take the cake.

It's impossible to know exactly how much Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are spending on their rumored big day, which is reportedly set to take place at one of New York City's most iconic venues: Madison Square Garden. Factor in Swift's penchant for spectacle and what would almost certainly be a massive guest list, and it's easy to imagine the budget is enormous.

Most couples shudder at spending thousands on their weddings, but when you're two of the richest people in the world, that number is inevitably going to have a few (or a lot) more zeroes attached.

But in the realm of expensive celebrity nuptials, Swift and Kelce have some fierce competition among their wealthy peers. Below, we're taking a look back at seven celebrity weddings with blockbuster budgets.

**Estimated cost: **$10 million

NBA legend Michael Jordan married model Yvette Prieto on April 27, 2013. According to PEOPLE, the couple tied the knot at Bethesda-by-the-Sea, the Episcopal church in Palm Beach, Fla., where Donald Trump married Melania in 2005. Orchestrated by celebrity wedding planner Sharon Sacks, the wedding hosted 300 guests, among them golf pro Tiger Woods, iconic filmmaker Spike Lee, and fellow NBA stars Scottie Pippen and Patrick Ewing.

The reception was held at the Bears Club, an upscale golf community designed by retired professional golfer Jack Nicklaus. It also featured performances from Usher and Robin Thicke.

**Are they still together? **Yes! Jordan and Prieto welcomed twin daughters in 2014.

**Estimated cost: **$4.6 million

After years as Hollywood's most eligible bachelor, George Clooney wed international human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin on Sept. 27, 2014, at the historic Aman Canal Grande, a restored 16th-century palazzo in Venice. The festivities were held over four days in the Italian city, and included boat rides, bachelor and bachelorette parties, the wedding itself, and a luxe reception. The bride wore a custom Oscar de la Renta gown featuring 14 yards of Chantilly lace appliqués and hand-embroidered with pearls and diamanté stones.

PEOPLE reported on the exclusive event, which was attended by 100 guests that included Bono, Bill Murray, Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, and John Krasinski. The "classic Italian" five-course menu featured lemon risotto and lobster, as well as wine, Alain Navarre champagne, and Clooney's own Casamigos tequila. For the party favors, guests received iPods pre-loaded with songs selected by the newly married couple.

**Are they still together? **Yes! And they recently became French citizens.

**Estimated cost: **$1.5-2 million

Actors Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones tied the knot on Nov. 18, 2000, in a highly publicized wedding that drew scrutiny for its expensive trappings — so much so that the couple held a press conference to clarify rumors about how much the wedding cost, who paid for it, and how. When asked about her custom Christian Lacroix bridal gown, rumored to have cost $250,000, Zeta-Jones said she hadn't yet received the bill so she couldn't confirm the price tag.

The pair married at the Plaza Hotel in New York, after which the couple asked their illustrious guests — including Tom Hanks, Whoopi Goldberg, George Clooney, and Anthony Hopkins — to donate to their newborn son Dylan Michael's charity fund in lieu of gifts. Surprisingly, Douglas and Zeta-Jones were criticized for what they described as an attempt to teach their child to "learn the joy of giving."

**Are they still together? **This year marks the couple's 26th wedding anniversary.

**Estimated cost: **$2-3 million

Katie Holmes famously told *Seventeen* magazine in 2004 that she wanted to marry Tom Cruise. And on Nov. 18, 2006, she did just that when the couple tied the knot at the 15th-century Castello Orsini-Odescalchi in Bracciano, Italy.

Holmes wore not one, but two custom Giorgio Armani gowns: for the ceremony, a dress featuring an ivory silk train adorned in Valenciennes lace and embroidered with Swarovski crystals, followed by a champagne-colored gown for the reception. The festivities were attended by more than 150 guests, including Brooke Shields, Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, John Travolta, Jim Carrey, and Jennifer Lopez.

Guests were treated to a multi-course Italian meal and cocktails, along with a five-tiered wedding cake, a performance by Andrea Bocelli, and renowned music producer Mark Ronson working the DJ booth. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Cruise and Holmes still hold the record for most expensive wedding in a castle.

**Are they still together? **No. The pair famously divorced just five-and-a-half years later, with Holmes receiving primary custody of their daughter, Suri.

Simpson married former NFL footballer Eric Johnson on July 5, 2014, at the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, Calif. in front of about 275 guests. In addition to the ceremony, the festivities included a rehearsal dinner at the ranch, a Fourth of July barbecue, a wedding reception, and a farewell brunch.

Simpson wore an estimated $750,000 worth of jewelry with her custom Carolina Herrera gown, which was inspired by a portrait of Empress Elisabeth "Sissi" of Austria. Attendees included sister Ashlee Simpson and actors Jessica Alba and Donald Faison.

**Are they still together? **The couple announced their split in January 2025. As of March 2026, they were still sharing a home together, though they remain separated.
