PJ Harvey welcomed 2026 by teasing fans with a new creative chapter after the ’90s indie rock icon wrapped up her two-year tour.
The British singer and songwriter concluded her extensive I Inside the Old Year Dying tour in support of her tenth studio album by kicking off a string of shows in Europe in late 2023, followed by North America in the fall of 2024 and Australia and Japan in early 2025.
With her continued activities, the 56-year-old artist announced that she is set to launch an exciting new music project.
In an Instagram update, Harvey shared a handwritten list of tracks that she has been listening to lately. These included songs from Scottish singer Clarissa Connelly, German musician and composer Nils Frahm and others.
Apart from this, she also thanked fans for supporting her recent tour and expressed her gratitude for the remarkable two-year journey.

However, the highlight of her lengthy post was the announcement regarding the upcoming album. She also revealed that she is working on her new book.
“2025 saw the end of the ‘I Inside the Old Year Dying’ tour in Australia and Japan in March. The two-year tour was such a wonderful experience to have been a part of, and I hugely enjoyed being able to bring the music to life in a shared experience. Since then, I have been writing songs for my next album and poems for my next book, which is a process that always surprises and challenges me, but one I realise I am committed to and love. Here is a playlist of music I’ve been listening to this year and that I have found inspiring and strengthening,” she captioned her post.
Lastly, Harvey wished everyone “a happy and peaceful year ahead,” adding, “and thank you for your support.”
