- Kristen Bell presided over the 2026 Actor Awards, formerly known as the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards.

- *Sinners* and *The Studio* won top honors for film and TV contenders, respectively.

- Harrison Ford was previously announced as this year's Life Achievement Award recipient from the SAG-AFTRA union.

The SAG Awards might have a new name, but the awards season prestige was all the same as the 32nd annual Actor Awards winners were announced Sunday night.

Hosted by Kristen Bell, the 2026 ceremony unfolded at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles, where major stars (including Timothée Chalamet, Emma Stone, and Ariana Grande) duked it out for top honors from the SAG-AFTRA union — the largest industry collective in Hollywood, with around 160,000 members.

On the film side, director Ryan Coogler's *Sinners* handily won in two Actor Awards categories, including for its ensemble and a solo trophy for lead actor Michael B. Jordan, who pulled off a shocking upset over Chalamet with a victory that tightened the Oscars race.

Upon accepting the award on behalf of the entire *Sinners* crew, Delroy Lindo expressed extreme gratitude for the achievement, which also made Coogler the first director to have helmed two Actor-winning casts in the Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture category (the first of his being *Black Panther*).

"This project is anointed. From that standpoint, we're all anointed to be part of this incredible journey created by the genius Ryan Coogler," Lindo said on stage. "My extraordinary [cast], I love y'all, man, every last one of this cast, this company, the company in front of the camera, behind the camera."

He continued, "Every single day, we brought ourselves, we brought our hearts, we brought our souls, we brought our spirits to this endeavor. To be recognized by you all, thank you does not come anywhere near to encompassing what we feel."**

Other film winners included *One Battle After Another*'s Sean Penn, who seems poised to win the Oscar after triumphing at last week's BAFTA Awards in the same category, and Jessie Buckley, whom has steamrolled the Best Actress race in recent months.

This year's Actor Awards winners ran the gamut from major commercial movie stars in blockbuster titles (such as *Sinners *and *Weapons*' supporting actress, Amy Madigan) to TV icons on the small screen, including *The Pitt*'s Noah Wyle, *The Diplomat*'s Keri Russell, and the late *Studio* star Catherine O'Hara, who won a posthumous Actor Award for her role in the Apple TV+ comedy.

O'Hara's costar, Seth Rogen, became visibly emotional while accepting O'Hara's award on her behalf.

"She really showed that you can be a genius and be kind, and one of those things does not have to come at the expense of the other in any way shape or form," he said. "If you have people in your lives who don't know her work — if you have kids in your lives or people that are out of touch or stupid or something — just show them O'Hara dancing to Harry Belafonte in *Beetlejuice*. Show them O'Hara hurting her knee in *Best in Show* and doing that amazing thing where she hobbles around. And tell the people as they're laughing that that's Catherine O'Hara, and we're lucky that we got to live in a world were she so genuinely got to share her talents with us."

As previously announced, Harrison Ford received this year's Life Achievement Award for his multiple decades as a Hollywood icon.

The annual accolade is bestowed upon actors who've made a legendary impact on the industry, and upheld aspirational ideals in their life and careers. In the past, it has gone to staples like Jane Fonda, Sidney Poitier, Barbra Streisand, Morgan Freeman, Rita Moreno, Mary Tyler Moore, and Dick Van Dyke, to name a few.**

Considered a major precursor awards body ahead of the Oscars (which air this year on March 15), the SAG-AFTRA union's voting committee and subsequent group-wide voting base are among the largest in Hollywood. The group shares heavy crossover into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences' voting branches — which means Actor Awards winners typically cross over into Academy Awards territory.

Last year, both of the SAG Awards' supporting category winners (Zoe Saldaña and Kieran Culkin) went on to win at the Oscars, though lead performers Demi Moore (*The Substance*) and Chalamet (*A Complete Unknown*) lost their Oscar categories to Mikey Madison (*Anora*) and Adrien Brody (*The Brutalist*).

SAG's highest competitive film awards, however, for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, went to *Conclave*, though Anora ultimately won Best Picture.
