Christa B. Allen is opening up about playing a young Jenna Rink in 13 Going on 30
Allen recently took to TikTok to share a montage of herself in the film
"As a child, you will be offered a role that will teach generations of girls and women that they have the power to manifest the life of their dreams. It is very important that you play that role," she wrote
Christa B. Allen is reminiscing about the role of a lifetime: that of a young Jenna Rink in 13 Going on 30.
Allen — who played the 13-year-old version of Jennifer Garner's character in the 2004 rom-com — took to TikTok to share a montage of herself in the film, along with text over top that reads, "As a child, you will be offered a role that will teach generations of girls and women that they have the power to manifest the life of their dreams. It is very important that you play that role."
The video is set to the Fleetwood Mac song “Silver Springs,” a recently trending audio used to reference a life-changing moment in videos posted to the social platforms.

The actress, 34, added a lengthy caption about the impact the role made on both her own life and the lives of others, writing, "time cast a spell and turned me from the tragically awkward youngest daughter of a struggling blue collar family… into the woman who can turn any challenge into something magical. this is not just my story, it is ALL of us. you can take the hand you’re dealt and make it absolutely BEAUTIFUL!"
"When I look back at playing this character in 13 Going on 30, I didn’t know it then, but she was the genesis of what would become my purpose," Allen added. "what Jenna Rink symbolized was also a whisper from the universe: 'you’re here to remind women what’s possible.'"Allen added: "if being a woman in the spotlight has taught me one thing, it’s this: people love your beauty, your brilliance, your boldness — right up until YOU benefit from it. The same world that praises women for being magnetic, sexy, ambitious… is the first to call them 'too much' the moment they own it."
Allen added a message to her followers: "Your job isn’t to dilute yourself to make other people comfortable. your job is to GROW what’s great about you, and then share it boldly, bravely… because we’re here to connect. to remember that we are one."
"So let your light shine. take up space. CREATE what only you can create. the universe didn’t make you this way by accident," she wrote.
Allen often takes to social media to pay homage to 13 Going on 30 and in 2020, recreated one of the film's most iconic scenes for Halloween.
In the movie, Allen's 13-year-old Rink is trapped in the adult body of Garner's 30-year-old Rink and dresses up for a Poise magazine party while Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" plays in the background.
Allen posed as Garner's character in her TikTok video, complete with the same striped, multi-color Versace dress from the movie.
