A 39-year-old contestant on Age of Attraction, Ashley Wottring, revealed she was cast on the Netflix show but claimed her story was "cut"
She opened up about her life in a TikTok video, where she shared that she is a "virgin waiting for marriage"
Wottring also reflected on participating in the series, calling it a healing experience
An Age of Attraction contestant is opening up on social media after her time on the show didn’t make the final cut.
In a recent video on TikTok, Ashley Wottring revealed that she participated in Netflix’s new dating experiment series exploring age-gap relationships. However, she said, “sadly, my story was cut.”
A business owner from Fishers, Ind., Wottring shared how she was cast on the show and offered a deeper explanation about who she is.
“I’m 39 years old. I was 38 when the show filmed, and when it comes to my dating life, I've honestly been single for as long as I can remember,” she said. “I'm just a big believer that when you know, you know, and I don't want to waste time trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.”

“I actually did not apply to be on the show,” she continued. “Someone else was reached out to over social media, and they're like, ‘I'm married, but you have to meet my friend Ashley.’ And on my 38th birthday, I got a text and said, ‘Don't hate me, but,’ and she's like, ‘I just gave your name to a casting director.’ If it was any day other than my birthday, I'm honestly not sure I would have even answered."
"But once you get to a certain age and you really want to be married, you really want to have kids, birthdays can be a little bit tough, because it's that biological clock reminder that 'time's a-ticking, girl, you gotta find someone soon,'" she said.
Wottring said she was “very prayerful about the decision” to participate in the series and put it into God’s hands to “open the door” or “close it” when it came to finding her person.

“While I can't say yet if I'm dating anyone from the show or if I'm still single, I will say this: I made two very strong connections on my end, and it was, for me, a very healing process,” she said. “Because it had been so long since I had felt for a guy, that I was starting to actually think, ‘Did I break? Can I still have feelings?’”
“There is probably one thing about me that has really affected my dating life,” she went on to explain. “I'm going to start to talk about it more, but it's something that I haven't really talked about in a really long time outside of my close circle. That is that I'm a virgin waiting for marriage. I know. Take it in.”
As the video concluded, Wottring said she plans to keep speaking about her personal and dating life online, as she knows there are people who can relate.
“I feel like it's such a lonely time to be 39 single, no kids,” she said, adding she can “hopefully help people feel like you're not alone in this phase.” She also teased, "I'll spill the tea when I can."
According to Wottring’s bio on Netflix’s official website, she quit her job in corporate America to start her own business and moved home to live “with her vibrant Greek family.”
“It’s unconventional, but I’ve honestly never been happier,” she said, as it further states that she “wants a big fat Greek wedding of her own one day" but isn't in a rush to get there.
“People try to force a relationship to work out of desperation to be married,” Wottring noted. “I’m looking for my future baby daddy.”
Episodes 1-5 of Age of Attraction are now available to stream on Netflix. Episodes 6-8 release on Wednesday, March 18, and the finale drops Wednesday, March 25.
