On today’s Beyond The Gates recap:Breaking News: Kat and Eva Are Cordial!
Eva and Izaiah are at Orphey Gene’s being all sweet and adorable. Kat walks in, approaches and is unusually nice. Izaiah asks about Bill and Kat goes on and on about how Hayley is keeping him sick. She heads over to a table across the way when Chelsea walks in and is even nicer to the couple.
Izaiah asks about their sexy time the other day. She says he was perfect, but he pushes to know if she was really present with him or in her head the entire time.
Kat and Chelsea sit together and get down to talking about Bill. Chelsea notes how something always happens after he is released from the hospital. She wants to spend more time with her father so she can keep an eye on the situation.
Andre Remains Distracted by “Unknown” on Beyond The Gates
Andre is alone at Caffeine reviewing his text messages from “unknown.” He calls his friend Henry asking if their mutual pain is still causing migraines for folks and says there is an outbreak in the DMV.
Martin and Smitty startle Andre who quickly asks about the upcoming election, so they won’t ask him questions. They chat a bit before Martin heads off to pick up coffee. Smitty immediately leans in asking if the look on Andre’s face has anything to do with the blast from the past text they discussed the day before. Andre minimizes their conversation and says he overreacted. He pushes and Andre relents saying he never thought his past would come back to visit him, especially after settling down.
Martin returns and asks Andre to join a charity basketball game the next day. Andre turns him down and is clearly more interested in his phone than continued interaction. After the couple leaves, Andre gets a text from Henry saying their common headache isn’t around, and he should watch his back.
Dani’s Family Calls Out Her Preoccupation With Bill!
Vernon, Anita and Nicole meet up at the country club awaiting Dani’s arrival. Just then, she shows up and says she wants to talk about Bill. She knows they are all concerned about the dynamic between her and Bill. She also knows her family talks behind her back and wants to get it all out in the open.
Anita goes first and says she is concerned Dani is back to her reckless ways and believes engaging with Bill leads her to making foolish decisions. As Anita is talking, Dani is flashing back to elevator sex. Anita snaps her out of her flashback and Dani asks her sissy to go next.
Nicole worries because Bill has drawn Dani back into his orbit and fears hurt and heartache will follow. They all go on a bit before they remind Dani both she and Bill are now married to other people. Vernon notes what a good man Andre is and how he doesn’t require her to give up herself and her world to be in a relationship with him. Dani is glad they got all that out of their system and says she doesn’t need to hear it anymore because they have nothing to worry about. With that, she picks up her menu and shift the topic to their orders. Anita calls her Danielle and lets her know there is no way she will be dismissing them this easily.
Anita says Dani called them together and does not get to dismiss them without as much as a word. They go into what happened at the hospital the day before, but Dani dismisses it saying emotions were running high and she reacted to Hayley, who is a constant irritant. She says she knows who Bill is now. Anita jumps is saying you mean the man she, her daughters and Kat are trying to convince his wife is cheating on him. Dani says the girls started the whole situation, but Anita says she just had to be all involved. Vernon thinks Dani just poked holes in her own explanation and Nicole knows her sissy has more explaining to do.
Dani says Bill is vulnerable and weak, of which someone like Hayley is sure to take advantage. Bill’s legacy belongs to her girls, and they will all work together to make sure he isn’t someone’s victim. She goes on and on when all her family says they will just have to take her at her word but will be around to pick her up if something happens.
Martin and Smitty show up and talk a bit about the charity basketball game the next day. Nicole thanks him for inviting Kial to play and Smitty notes both Ted and Carlton are also on the team. Dani is thrilled to give her sissy the business as all her men are on the team together and what could possibly go wrong. Vernon asks who he has for a fifth and the dynamic duo say they will head off to figure that out now. Afterwards, Dani continues giving the business saying Martin should track down her high school boyfriend to complete the team!

Andre walks in the club ready to hit the gym when he gets a text from “unknown” telling him to meet at the Bowman with a room number. He turns and makes his exit but not before Vernon spots him and tells the table.
Vanessa Meets Deanna’s Beau on Beyond The Gates
Noah is playing his guitar on a bench when Deanna walks up and compliments his skills. He thanks her for meeting him on his lunch break from the clinic.

Noah and Deanna are enjoying their meal and each other at Uptown. The waiter comes over and she confirms open mic night is the next day. They are getting all cute with one another when Vanessa arrives and Deanna’s smile fades.
Vanessa and Noah make their introductions. Deanna looks like her teeth will crack apart due to the force smile across her mouth. She is confused by her appearance as she thought her mother had back-to-back meetings. Vanessa explains and says she didn’t mean to intrude. Noah offers her a seat and Deanna says it’s all good (When Deanna explodes, it’s going to be so delicious).
Noah has to get back to work and makes his exit. Afterwards, Deanna turns cold when her mother begins to ask questions. Vanessa goes on and on about how obvious it is that Noah is crazy about her. Deanna tries to downplay everything when her mother asks about his guitar. She mentions open mic night, and Vanessa says she will get a group of folks to come in support. Deanna says she can bring Joey, but Vanessa thinks it’s probably not his thing. Nevertheless, she promises to show up to support her daughter’s new beau.
Joey Tells Heather He Will Kill Her If Any Harm Befalls Vanessa!
Joey is getting frisky with Vanessa who is trying to make it out the door. She makes a quick exit and Joey calls someone and tells them to “do it now.” With a quickness, Heather arrives at his door after having been snatched off the street by one of Joey’s goons. He wants to know what her agenda is with Vanessa.
Joey thinks his sister is using Vanessa to get to him. Heather gets very close and says Vanessa is not a pawn to her and he’s just going to have to believe her. Heather reminds him they are the only family they have left and thinks they should try to be close. Joey remembers her as the little girl he adored, and she says the feelings were mutual. Joey also says that was a long time ago and goes into her role as the brutal and deadly Impaler. Joey says there is a limit to how far he will go for his businesses but doesn’t believe the same is true for his sister. Vanessa says Joey has goons to do his dirty work while she prefers to dirty her own hands. They are both the same in result if not by process.
They talk a bit about the way they were raised, and Heather says she never thought either of them would find someone around which they could be themselves. Joey chooses to believe his sister, for now. That being said, if anything happens to Vanessa, he will kill her with his bare hands. She gets it, grabs her purse and says she will call Vanessa about their dinner before making her exit.
Joey calls in the goon outside his door and wants him to work as a team to tail Heather. He wants him and Randy to work together to make sure they always know exactly where Heather is and what she is doing at all times.
Later…
Eva admits she was in her head when they started their session but didn’t take long to lose herself in their session. She is trying her best to be okay with her daughter but tells him her feelings won’t go away overnight. He makes some suggestions to move forward and take tiny steps each time. Eva is down and Izaiah thanks her for trusting him. She thanks him for loving her the way he does.
Deanna arrives to see Chelsea and Kat. They get to talking about Noah when Deanna asks if they will come to open mic night. The cousins promise to do everything they can to make it.
Vanessa arrives back at Joey’s place and tells him about meeting up with Deanna and Noah. She returned home to make herself even happier by returning to his arms. Joey feels the same and the duo get down to it.
Dani returns from the lobby with the news that no one saw Andre arrive and/or exit. Dani wonders, if it was Andre, why wouldn’t he join them?
Andre sends Dani to voicemail as he lingers outside a room at the Bowman. He enters the dark room and calls out. All of a sudden, he is startled by a voice. He turns and sees Heather on the sofa!
