Ariana Madix is dishing on the Love Island kitchen.
The host of the reality TV show, 41, discussed the show’s amenities during a live Q&A for Peacock’s Love Island USA with content creator Sabrina Brier at 92NY in New York City on Aug. 17.
Madix said that, along with the infamous kitchen where the Islanders cook on a stovetop and make breakfast, there is “a magic pantry.”
The pantry, she said, features an open back, so production can refill it at all times (as if by magic).
She said the pantry is stocked with items like candy, snacks, protein bars, cereal and more.
The refrigerator has a magical side too.
“The refrigerator basically has an open back so they can restock everything in the fridge all the time,” she said.
The host added that the cast will often make sandwiches like grilled cheese in the kitchen at night.
Behind the scenes, Madix added, there is another kitchen for catering where she has dinner before entering the villa.

Madix said that the show boasts “an amazing catering crew.”
When asked which one of the “really nasty” challenges on Love Island she would do if she had to, Madix replied that she would choose the food challenge, which requires players to consume gross food items.
She explained that the food challenge would allow her to focus on the gross food rather than anyone hearing things she’s said about them, adding that she wouldn’t want to do a challenge involving slime because she thinks she would fall.
In the conversation, the host also discussed her food preferences outside of the villa, admitting she’s partial to food delivery.
The Emmy-nominated host said that she would celebrate a potential Emmy win with a “nice nap” and a “Postmates order.”
“I like to eat in my bed,” she said.
The host doubled down on this take, sharing that before she was the host of Love Island USA, she would watch “episode after episode” with delivery food in bed, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Madix, who became the host of Love Island USA in 2024, has become popular with contestants and audiences alike.
She shared that, as the host, it’s challenging but necessary to preserve the distance between the villa and the outside world as the main person interacting with both at the same time.
She added that even if she disagrees with an Islander, she tries “not to judge” them as much as possible.
Madix also said that the show emphasizes care of its contestants, adding that she hopes former Islanders know that they can always count on her for a confidential chat or support.
The former Vanderpump Rules star added that she knows what it’s like on the other side of things.
Madix recently starred alongside Summer House and Love Island Aftersun‘s Ciara Miller in commercials for Sonic seemingly poking fun at the Internet’s fascination with their respective reality TV scandals.
In a video posted on Sonic’s Instagram on April 23, Madix and Miller, whose ex-boyfriend, West Wilson had at the time announced a secret relationship with Miller’s close friend Amanda Batula, shared that they have no new drama to share.
“I’ve been off social media, I’ve been honestly just drinking my new frozen Sonic Refresher,” Miller says in the video.
“I love that energy,” says Madix, who was embroiled in her ex-boyfriend Tom Sandoval’s cheating scandal.
“Let’s sip to that,” Madix says in the ad. “Sip to that,” Miller says as they cheers.
Madix, a longtime fan of Sonic, told PEOPLE that “if you’re not getting a carrier full of drinks” at the fast food spot, “you’re not doing it right.”
“When I was in high school, a Sonic opened in my town, and it was like revolutionary,” she said. “We couldn’t believe that we got a Sonic, because it’s Melbourne, Florida.”
“I have such fond memories of that,” she added.
The star also shared her favorite weird food combination at the time — hot sauce or mustard on a tortilla — which she called “a bit of a struggle meal.”
“I love hot sauce, and I love mustard, so I’ll put that on anything and call it a meal,” she said. “A can of tuna with some hot sauce on it, it’s like pretty sad, but it’s good to me. Throw in some pepperoncinis and some pickles and some kimchi, and I’m good.”
