Charlie Sheen spent some quality time with his daughter and ex-wife Denise Richards.

On Wednesday, March 25, the Two and a Half Men actor, 60, shared a new snap on Instagram, posing alongside the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 55, and his daughter Lola, 20, in a mirror selfie during a recent outing together. In text over the photo, Sheen wrote he had an "awesome day with the girls."

"Guess I had to get off that thing behind me, to reconnect with what's around me," Sheen captioned the photo.

In the comment section, the 20-year-old shared how "special" the outing was for her. "Awe dad!!! I love you so much, today was so special to me 🥹❤️ and I love this photo," she commented.

The family outing comes after the actor's daughter Sami, 22, opened up about the complicated dynamic of her relationship with her dad. She discussed tensions with her father, who's also a dad to daughter Cassandra, 41, and 17-year-old twin sons Bob and Max, on an April episode of Denise Richards & Her Wild Things, after apparently turning down an opportunity to join him for lunch.

“Me and my dad haven't really spoken much in the past five months,” she said. “It goes in very big chunks with him. I think for the first 13 years of my life, it was pretty bad, and then we were OK for a couple years, and now it's just like, OK.”

“I understand why Sami feels the way she does,” Denise added. “It hasn't always been perfect with he and Lola, either — with any of his kids. So I hope that he does recognize that because he's missing out.”

She has also addressed their relationship on TikTok, lip-syncing her dad's infamous 2011 interview about drug use from ABC's 20/20. "When people wonder why I haven't spoken to my dad in a year but this is my dad," she wrote over the clip, which featured a soundbite of Sheen previously addressing if drugs were in his home at the time.

Sami later touched on her dynamic with her father, responding to a video from PEOPLE where Sheen was asked who he calls when he needs a laugh. "Hmmm, I'm gonna say, anyone but your daughter," she replied in the stitched clip.

Sheen later addressed his relationship with his daughter, telling PEOPLE back in September 2025 that there's "some stuff" going on involving his daughter. He also shared at that time that he's optimistic about the future of their relationship.

"There’s some stuff going on with Sami, but we'll fix it," he told PEOPLE, adding, "I've got more days behind me than in front of me and that's fine."

"That's the deal we get when we show up [on Earth]," he continued. "But what I try to tell my kids is, 'Dude, you're going to be here so long after I'm not. So try to hang on to at least 10% of what I'm saying. I guarantee it will come in handy somewhere, I promise it.'"

He also elaborated on the status of their relationship in a Good Morning America interview with Michael Strahan on Sept. 5.

“As long as everybody is still in the game, there’s always a shot for a better tomorrow," he said of Sami. "I don’t really know what I did, that’s the problem. I don’t know what I’m supposed to apologize for. But I have absolute faith that this is not a forever thing."

"Her and I will work it out," he added. "It’s too valuable to let some moment destroy all of that.”
