- Lindsie Chrisley is speaking out after she was booked on suspicion for a DUI during the holiday weekend.

- "I got pulled over speeding past a car on a two lane road because they almost hit an animal and I was trying to miss hitting them and whatever the animal was," she said.

- She was released on bond on Sunday, May 24.

Lindsie Chrisley is addressing her run-in with police over the holiday weekend.

The *Chrisley Knows Best** *star was arrested on Saturday, May 23 in Georgia. According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, Chrisley was charged with attempting to elude police, improper passing, reckless driving, speeding and DUI less safe (which, in Georgia, means someone can face driving under the influence charges even if their blood alcohol concentration is below 0.08%).

She was booked in the Cherokee County jail and released on Sunday, May 24, after posting bond of $5,961.

The former reality star spoke out following the arrest, telling TMZ: "I got pulled over speeding past a car on a two lane road because they almost hit an animal and I was trying to miss hitting them and whatever the animal was." She added that she plans to "fight the charge."

This isn't the first time the Chrisley family has had a run-in with the law. Lindsie's father, Todd Chrisley, and wife Julie Chrisley were sentenced to federal prison in 2022 for bank fraud and tax evasion charges for 12 and 7 years, respectively. They were pardoned in May 2025 by President Trump.

Lindsie's DUI arrest also comes after her former boyfriend David Landsman was arrested on on charges of misdemeanor battery and felony aggravated assault/strangulation in April, per PEOPLE.**

Per *PEOPLE*, Landsman allegedly put his hand around the victim's neck, "applied pressure," and told them they were "not going anywhere." Since the alleged incident, Landsman and Lindsie have bought sought temporary restraining orders against each other and agreed to a no-contact order, per TMZ.

Like Lindsie, he was booked in the Cherokee County jail following the alleged incident around 1 a.m. on April 10. He has since been released.

On the May 18 episode of Lindsie's podcast *The Southern Tea* weeks after Landsman's arrest, she declared that she would be celibate for a year. Aside from abstaining from sex, Lindise also included "no having conversations with any man" as part of the lifestyle change.

"I'm marking it down on a calendar," she said. "No, but I think that that genuinely is, like, the healthiest thing in this moment that I could do." ********
