A fashion segment took an emotional toll on Drew Barrymore on her talk show, where she opened up about how her body insecurities have progressed after having two C-sections.

On the April 6 episode of "The Drew Barrymore Show," the "Charlie's Angels" actress, 51, was moved by the guest Dawn Benwood's journey of losing 75 pounds after being overweight most of her life and trying on tight-fitted clothes.

"I can't get away from the big baggy clothes because it's weird wearing tighter clothes," Benwood said with tears in a pre-taped segment that aired on the episode. "Even now I still look in the mirror, and I know I'm a different size, but I don't see that. I would love to feel confident and be able to go out and not be worried about [wondering] 'Do I look stupid?'"

The talk show host shared how much Benwood's story resonated with her, saying, "I so related. I really did."

"The other day, I was walking down the street, and I've had two C sections, and I'm so wrecked down there that I permanently just, I can't wear a lot of different types of pants," Barrymore said.

Barrymore recounted a recent day when she was walking around wearing a shorter shirt and couldn't keep her jacket closed, saying, "I don't want anyone to see this."

Drew Barrymore says children pushed her out of her comfort zone

Barrymore then interviewed Benwood's daughter, who explained how delightfully unusual it was to see her mother wear a warm colored, tight-fitted dress as she donned an elegant ivory, floor-length gown after years of black, baggy attire.

The actress then discussed how her own daughters have pushed her outside of her fashion comfort zone.

"Just hearing your story, I just thought of how I felt two days ago walking down the street on a Sunday with my daughter," Barrymore told Benwood. "I totally get it. And I’ve gotta tell you, I’m looking at you and all I see is just your beautiful hard work — that I only know because you told us, I wouldn’t know otherwise — and you look so stunning."

She continued: "Listen, you know what my daughter does? She encourages me to dress differently. And a lot of the times I feel really good... We all can find something that fits us right.”

Barrymore previously opened up about struggles with body image, including in a 2020 Instagram post, where she said, "I go up and I go down. The rollercoaster of my body is a challenging, but beautiful ride."

"I made two kids. The single most important purpose for me being on this planet is for them! It is a true miracle I was able to have these two girls. So whatever the aftermath on my body, well bring it on!" she wrote. "That said, there have been times i have stood in my closet and just cried. Hated getting dressed. Didn’t feel good! It takes so much for me to look decent."

Barrymore has two daughters, whom she shares with her ex-husband Will Kopelman, including Olive Barrymore Kopelman, 13, and Frankie Barrymore Kopelman, 11.
