Fans of The Dukes of Hazzard are sending love and prayers to actress Catherine Bach, best known for her iconic role as Daisy Duke, after a sudden hospitalization.
On Thursday, October 30, her former co-star Ben Jones, who played mechanic Cooter Davenport, shared the concerning news on Facebook. Jones and his wife, Alma, wrote that Bach had been admitted to a Los Angeles hospital "on an emergency basis."
âBreaking news! Our dear Catherine Bach has just been admitted to the hospital in Los Angeles on an emergency basis. Catherine has an embolism that probably developed as a result of a recent surgery. We will keep you posted, and Catherine will share her story as soon as she is recovered. She is so, so sorry to have to cancel her appearance at Cooterâs this weekend. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Love, Ben and Miss Alma,â reads the statement from Jones and his wife.

Saturday, November 1: 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Sunday, November 2: 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM (Catherine must leave promptly at 12:30 PM to catch a flight - no exceptions.) In the comments on the Facebook post, Dukes of Hazzard fans flooded the post with messages of support:
âPrayers for her. Hopefully she has a speedy recovery,â one person wrote.
âLots of healing prayers đđŒđđŒ,â added another.
âCatherine Bach, you are in my prayers. Get well soon,â shared a third fan.
âOmg, this is horrible news! Prayers to Catherine for a speedy recovery! â€ïžâđ©č đđ»,â wrote a fourth.
Bach, 71, rose to fame as the bombshell cousin Daisy Duke on the CBS hit series, which aired from 1979 to 1985. Her wardrobe inspired a cultural phenomenon â the term âdaisy dukesâ for short denim cutoffs stems directly from her characterâs signature style.
Fans continue to cherish Bachâs portrayal, which helped make The Dukes of Hazzard one of the most recognizable shows of the early 1980s.
Parade will update as more information about Bachâs condition becomes available.
