Gwyneth Paltrow took fans inside a sweet mother-son moment on August 2.

The actress posted a snap to her Instagram Stories sunbathing in a tiny gingham bikini alongside her 20-year-old son Moses Martin.

Paltrow previously called Martin—a budding musician—“the definition of a gentleman.”

On August 2, the actress snapped a selfie of herself and Martin relaxing together on a comfortable looking lounge, the Oscar winner in a tiny gingham bikini and oversized sunglasses. Martin, for his part, wore his sunglasses atop his head, along with a white t-shirt and gray pants. In between the two was the book Long Island, a novel by Colm Tóibín.

On August 1, the Marty Supreme star shared a behind-the-scenes look as she made “Vietnamese-style steak and eggs with blistered cherry tomatoes, fresh garden herbs, and a splash of nuoc cham” as part of her #boyfriendbreakfast series on Instagram.

It turns out that Instagram isn’t the only social media platform Paltrow has been frequenting lately. She is also a new user on TikTok, making her debut on the platform on July 31 by sharing her travels around Europe. “Apparently I’m on TikTok now,” she captioned the clip.

Locations covered include Paris, Italy, a plane, a helicopter, a mountain, a boat, a bathtub, and a museum—and one scene where she appears to be topless in bed. The snippet followed Paltrow’s stripped-down video to promote Goop’s new body wash, which she shared on July 21 wearing a white bath towel.

As for TikTok, it’s perhaps not surprising that Paltrow is embracing the Gen Z mainstay. After all, she does have two Gen Z kids—Martin and 22-year-old Apple Martin, who just graduated from Vanderbilt. Moses, meanwhile, is preparing to return to Brown in the fall for his junior year. (Paltrow shares both Apple and Moses with ex-husband Chris Martin.)

“I’ve been so defined and so fulfilled by motherhood,” Paltrow told The Sunday Timesin 2024, before Moses headed off to college. “I never really go anywhere or do anything because I want to be around my kids while they live at home. You know, it’s like, ‘Oh, we’re doing a girls’ weekend here and there’ and I’m like, ‘Fuck no, I have 88 days left of Moses living [with me].”

Paltrow has since described becoming an empty nester as “really hard,” telling Today on May 27, “I really struggled when they all went, and then I thought, ‘Okay, I’m all good.’ And then in September again, I kind of fell off a cliff for the second time. But now I feel like, it’s what you want to happen. It’s what you hope will happen, that they will go off to their next phase of life and find their people.”

She added, “But it’s hard as a mother. You have to reorient around what’s…because you’re so focused on the kids and their schedules and their emotional health.”

Of Moses specifically, Paltrow shared that he “signed to Interscope Records. He’s in an amazing band, they’re called People I’ve Met, and he’s such a nice boy.”

When Moses turned 20 back in April, the Goop founder described her son as “the definition of a gentleman—kind, intelligent, thoughtful, and soulful.”

“It’s beyond words how incredible you are,” she wrote on Instagram. “I’m sending you a big birthday hug from the west coast. Don’t forget to check the mailbox today. I love you to bits, mama❤️.”
