Harry Jowsey has claimed that Netflix added sexual sound effects to exaggerate a scene in Let’s Marry Harry.
The 29-year-old reality star, known for appearing on the Netflix dating shows Too Hot to Handle and Perfect Match, is the love interest in streamer’s latest offering, a Bachelor-style format where Jowsey dates 20 women who want to marry him.
In an Instagram video shared Monday, Jowsey claimed that a kissing scene between him and one of the finalists, Dannelle Davidson, was exaggerated by the producers and editors to make it seem like they were having sex.
In episode two of the eight-part series, the pair are filmed kissing on a bed, before moving to a hallway where there are no hidden cameras.
The pair are still wearing their mics when subtitles show Jowsey saying, “Happy birthday, darling, I adore you,” and moaning and grunting sounds begins before the episode ends on a cliffhanger.
While that scene suggested that they were having sex, Jowsey claimed via an Instagram Q&A on Monday that the sounds had been added to exaggerate the drama.
“We were just making out,” he said of the scene. “I don’t know where they pulled that audio from, or who that was in that audio, but it was certainly not us.”
The Independent has contacted Netflix for comment.
Jowsey claimed that the producers made it seem “a little more exaggerated” than what actually happened for extra shock factor.
“It’s a TV show and every three days is one episode, so of course they’re going to put the crazy stuff in there,” he explained. “They needed a big cliffhanger on the end of that episode to keep you hooked, to keep you watching. Again, the greatness of TV to make something seem a little more exaggerated than they actually are.”

He reiterated that “we were literally just kissing in the closet in the early episodes.”
Davidson also shared her perspective Monday on TikTok: “The birthday scene is funny to me. Of course, it looked like we were maybe getting a little hot and heavy in the closet. We were making out, and I enjoyed it. It was my birthday. Sue me.”
In the show, Jowsey did hook up with finalist Amber Mozo, but lied to the other women about it after Mozo asked him to keep their intimate moment private.

Mozo and Davidson are the final two vying for Jowsey’s hand in marriage on the finale of Let’s Marry Harry, which airs August 12.
Some of the women participating in the show have claimed online that they were never told by casting producers that it would end in a wedding.
Contestant Rickiyah “KiKi” McGrady shared in a TikTok video over the weekend: “Did you know that about half of the girls who were on Let’s Marry Harry did not know that Harry Jowsey would be the man they would be engaged to and possibly marrying when they were cast for a dating show?”
“Did you know that I was one of those girls?”
Two more cast members backed up McGrady’s story in the comments section, with Debralee Tomberlin writing, “Like we did NOT know what we were signing up for,” and Shaine Hinson adding, “They told me literally four days before I was like wtf.”
Let’s Marry Harry was executive produced by Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper, Matt Kaplan, Mina Lefevre and showrunner David Friedman.
Jowsey’s friends, Amanda Kloots, Georgia Hassarati and Sonny Henty, appear in the show to help him choose his future wife. The trio observe his connections and decide which women would go on dates and be eliminated.
Cooper also appeared on the show, in episode seven, to give advice to Jowsey.
