New information has emerged regarding the death of Rob Lowe's 13-year-old niece earlier this week.
Fiona Harper Lowe died on Tuesday, September 29. Her parents, Hollywood actor Chad Lowe and his wife Kim Painter, said they were "deeply heartbroken" by their daughter's passing.
In a statement, the couple described Fiona as an intelligent, affectionate and imaginative teenager, calling her "the light of our lives. Fiona's family also urged anyone struggling to reach out for help.

"She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents," the statement said. "In fact, she was the light of our lives. Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time."
In a new development, revealed in documents from the Los Angeles medical examiner's office, which were reviewed by The Sun US, Fiona died at a Los Angeles hospital. The 13-year-old's cause of death has now been confirmed, with the teenager dying from an apparent suicide.

The medical examiner provided a statement to People Magazine, suggesting Fiona was pronounced dead at 1.14 a.m. on Tuesday. The medical examiner confirmed she died by suicide.
Fiona's parents, Chad and Kim, released a heartbreaking statement following her passing. "She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents," the statement said.

It continued, "In fact, she was the light of our lives. Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time."

Chad and Kim also encouraged people to seek assistance if they are experiencing mental health difficulties, stating, "If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health, please reach out to the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988."
Following the public announcement of Fiona's passing, supporters flocked to X to express their sympathies. One individual stated, "Omg, how devastating," while another shared, "This is absolutely terrible. I'm keeping the Lowe family in my thoughts tonight. RIP Fiona."
A third X user remarked, "My heart breaks for precious Fiona and the unimaginable pain her family is going through. We never know what someone is secretly fighting. At just 13, she had so much life ahead. Holding Chad Lowe and his family close in my prayers tonight."
Actor Rob Lowe, Chad's brother, reportedly rushed to be with his family following Fiona's death. "Rob dropped everything," a source informed Rob Shuter's Naughty But Nice Substack.
They continued, "Chad is his little brother, and the second he heard, Hollywood stopped mattering. There was nowhere else Rob was going to be except by Chad's side."
