Phoebe Dynevor is sharing the reason why she hasn't reprised her role on Bridgerton since season 2.
The actress explains that she hasn't received a call about a potential return to the hit Netflix series.
That being said, if the series did reach out, she would be happy to step back into Daphne's shoes.
Phoebe Dynevor is sharing the reason why Daphne hasn’t returned to the ton for a Bridgerton family fête since season 2.
The actress, who led the highly successful first season of the Netflix series Bridgerton opposite Regé-Jean Page, explained her character’s continued absence on the show in a recent Collider Ladies Night interview.
“I just want to say I have not received a call,” Dynevor told the outlet. “And when I get that call, I will be there if I can.”

Bridgerton focuses on the relationship of a new Bridgerton sibling each season, with its first dedicated to chronicling the romance between Daphne (Dynevor) and Simon (Regé-Jean Page). Subsequent seasons have detailed Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate’s (Simone Ashley) enemies-to-lovers relationship, as well as longtime friends Colin (Luke Newton) and Penelope’s (Nicola Coughlan) love story.
However, after completing the season and fulfilling their contracts, Page exited the project. Dynevor returned for a brief appearance in season 2, but has not reprised her role as the eldest Bridgerton daughter since.
It’s an uncommon move, given many Bridgerton family members have continued to make an appearance in the series’ subsequent seasons even after making their respective matches. Colin and Anthony, for example, both play important roles in helping their brother Benedict (Luke Thompson) find love in the recently released fourth season.
However, while speaking with Collider, Dynevor explained that wasn’t an expectation that was set when they wrapped season 1.

“When the first season came out they didn't know what they needed to put in place,” she said. “So we were like the ones that got away I think, in a certain way. But like we would — I can only speak for myself — I would always come back if I was asked.”

While Dynevor is open to returning to the show, Page has previously shut down speculation about him returning to the world of Bridgerton. The show's executive producer Shonda Rhimes reflected on Page's exit in a 2021 Variety interview, noting that she understood where Page was coming from and why he wanted to part ways with the series.
"Rightfully, he said, 'I signed up to do this one lovely story, this closed-ended storyline. I'm good!'" she said at the time. "I don't blame him for that. I think that he was really smart to leave the perfection as the perfection."
Dynevor also shared that she’ll always remain grateful for the opportunities that the breakout role gave her. “Suddenly I realized that I had these opportunities to play lots of different women,” she said. "And it's all I'd ever wanted in my career.”
And hey! Bridgerton isn’t going anywhere anytime soon — seasons 5 and 6 have already been greenlit by Netflix. So maybe Daphne will get a chance to reunite with her siblings soon?
