Daniel Stern has been charged with soliciting prostitution
Actor Daniel Stern, who played one of the burglars breaking into Kevin McCallister's home in classic Christmas movie Home Alone, is in legal trouble in real life.
Prosecutors in California's Ventura County filed one misdemeanor count of soliciting prostitution against the actor Monday, a spokesman for the district attorney's office told Entertainment Weekly. The offense allegedly occurred on Dec. 10 in the city of Camarillo.

PEOPLE reported that the actor was cited at a motel.
He is perhaps best known for playing Marv, one of the "Wet Bandits," alongside Joe Pesci's Harry, in the 1990 family film and its sequel, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. In the second one, Marv and Harry have managed to escape prison and meet up with Macaulay Culkin's character, Kevin, a second time, when the boy once again finds himself on his own for the most wonderful time of the year.
Throughout both films, Stern's Marv is subjected to some of the worst obstacles set up to protect Keven, including stepping on a nail barefoot, taking a hot iron to the face and bricks to the head, and surviving an electrocution.
Stern, 68, is also known, though, for movies such as Diner, Hannah and Her Sisters, My Blue Heaven, and both City Slickers and its sequel, City Slickers 2: The Legend of Curly's Gold.
He later starred in the films Very Bad Things, Whip It, and the sequel to another holiday classic, A Christmas Story, 2012's A Christmas Story 2.

On TV, he narrated the dramedy The Wonder Years for all five seasons, between 1988 and 1993. The star has also appeared on the shows Dilbert, Manhattan, Shrill, and For All Mankind.
In recent years, Stern, who is married and has three adult children, also spent his time sculpting and farming at a California ranch, PEOPLE reported.
He felt "an obligation to take advantage of my good fortune, after making "enough money that I didn't have to work."
Stern's arraignment is set for Jan. 13. Entertainment Weekly has reached out to a rep for the actor.
