Beloved '90s rock bandPavement revealed they'll be doing a short summer tour in the United States throughout July 2026.

Pitchfork reported the band, which includes Stephen Malkmus, Mark Ibold, Scott Kannberg, Bob Nastanovich, and Steve West, shared information about the tour in a January 13 Instagram upload. Fans of Pavement, whose hits include 1994's "Cut Your Hair" and 1999's "Harness Your Hopes," will be able to see the band perform in Oakland, California on July 17, Portland, Oregon, on July 18, Minneapolis, Minnesota, on July 21, Chicago, Illinois, on July 22, Cleveland, Ohio, on July 23, Richmond, Virginia, on July 25, and Nashville, Tennessee, on July 27.

According to the caption, the Oakland tickets are "on sale now."

"Tix for everything else on sale Friday 10am local time," read a portion of the post's caption.

Some Fans Requested More Tour Dates

Several Pavement fans expressed excitement about the upcoming tour in the post's comments section. For instance, one commenter wrote, "feeling super blessed to be a Richmond resident," while another commented, "OMFG I'm finally going to see y'all."

However, quite a few fans expressed some disappointment about the short tour and requested more dates.

"Come to the east coast!!" commented a fan.

"come to Toronto please!!!" added another.

"COME TO CANADA PLEASEEEEE," shared a different person.

"No seattle, damn okay," stated a commenter.

"Then the UK? Please?" chimed in an Instagram user.

"European tour, please!!" requested a Pavement listener.

"Come to LA fam," wrote a social media user.

"Detroit guys! Please!" added another.

Pavement Discussed Their Resurgence in Popularity

In a July 2022 interview with Radio Primavera Sound, the members of Pavement spoke about the band's resurgence in popularity, specifically their song "Harness Your Hopes." The band said that they believe the Spotify algorithm pushed out the song in different playlists. In addition, they said they think the younger generation may enjoy the 1999 song's playfully macabre lyrics.

Malkmus, the band's lead singer, also said he appreciated that "Harness Your Hopes," from the Spit on a Stranger EP, has found new life.

"Every artist, obviously, you would like to have a life beyond, your music to have a life where it takes its own life and goes a different direction," said Malkmus in the interview.
