Late actor James Van Der Beekās monologue from his SNL appearance in 1999 is going viral after the news of his death.
In the clip posted on Saturday Night Liveās official YouTube channel, Van Der Beek is welcomed with cheers as she takes on the SNL stage. In response to the cheers, the actor said, āWow, this is absolutely incredible to be hosting Saturday Night Live. Most of you probably know me from the show Dawsonās Creek.ā
He is then interrupted by the announcer, Don Pardo, who was voiced by Darrell Hammond, who conveyed, āI love you, Dawson. Youāre a beautiful young man, and Iām very proud of you.ā Later in the clip, fans can see Van Der Beek unboxing a pair of white underwear, which was presented to him as a gift from Don Pardo. Moreover, commenting on it, Pardo stated, āYouāre very, very special to me, Dawson. So clean and untainted. Iāve seen many teen idols come through this show. But you have that something extra that makes me feel, I donāt know, hot!ā
However, Van Der Beek labeled it creepy. Many fans have chimed in on the comments section to pay tribute to the late actor after the monologue resurfaced.
Van Der Beekās death was announced on his Instagram account with the statement, āOur beloved James David Van Der Beek passed peacefully this morning. He met his final days with courage, faith, and grace. There is much to share regarding his wishes, love for humanity, and the sacredness of time. Those days will come. For now, we ask for peaceful privacy as we grieve our loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend.ā
