Jennifer Lawrence revealed the "one" role she wanted early in her career that longtime friend Emma Stone got instead
The actress said she "was nuts" for the part that Stone ended up getting
Lawrence also shared an embarrassing audition story
Jennifer Lawrence often went for the same movie roles as longtime friend Emma Stone — and there is one she was particularly bummed she didn't get.
“The one that I wanted that she got was Easy A,” the actress, 35, said during a Q&A with entertainment journalist Josh Horowitz at the 92NY Kaufmann Concert Hall in N.Y.C. on Wednesday, Jan. 7.
“I was nuts for Easy A, and I really should have gotten it, right? The movie could have turned out great,” she jokingly added of the box office and critical hit.
The Hunger Games alum also spoke about how Stone was recently nominated for a SAG Award for her role in the film Bugonia, while she was notably left out of the nominations for her performance in Die My Love.
“We were over in [our friend] group chat, and she got nominated for SAG today, and I did not,” Lawrence said.

“And I wrote, like, ‘What?’ And all of our friends were like, ‘Congratulations, Emma!' And then I would just do, like, a sad face. And then every time she's tried to talk today, I've just been like, ‘Why are you talking and not sorry? If you can talk, why are you not so sorry?’ ” Lawrence teased.

During the in-depth discussion, the star further reflected on her early years of auditioning. Explaining that she had no formal acting training, Lawrence said it led to some unique, and even embarrassing, audition experiences.
“I didn't do, like, [acting] classes or lessons, so when I started auditioning, I was just, you know, learning myself and teaching myself with no real feedback,” she recalled.
“So I remember one of my first auditions, I was doing this [covers part of her face with her hand] — which I thought was brilliant because it's so realistic. And they were like, ‘Cut, cut, what are you doing?’ “ Lawrence continued. "And I was like, ‘Well the scene is outside,’ … and they were like, ‘Move your hand away from your face!’ So stuff like that."
“I wasn't a good auditioner,” the Oscar winner added. “But then every once in a while, you know, you get a callback.”
