Jennifer Lawrence is opening up about how she and husband Cooke Maroney keep their marriage strong as two people who are "the opposite" of each other.
The actress, 35, appeared on the Jan. 12 episode of the SmartLess podcast, hosted by Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett. During the conversation, Lawrence shared how Maroney — with whom she shares two children — is the "anchor" of their family and keeps everyone "organized."
"I married somebody who is the opposite of me. Yeah. He is so organized," she said. “Everything is ordered. Like, I have to keep the closet doors closed, and I have my little jobs that I work really hard to do.”
Lawrence admitted that she has a hard time keeping to a schedule, but since becoming a mom, she has realized how important that is.
“I get it now, I get it,” she said. “[The kids are] on a very strict schedule. You know, it's like breakfast, 7:30."

Lawrence said Maroney is "good at keeping [the family] schedule" while she sometimes struggles with it. So they have a rule: "We've learned, to keep our marriage alive, I have a 15-minute wiggle room," the No Hard Feelings star explained.

The pair were first linked in 2018 after meeting through a mutual friend. They got engaged in February 2019 and married at the Belcourt of Newport mansion in Rhode Island in October 2019, with celebrities including Adele, Kris Jenner and Amy Schumer in attendance.
Lawrence and Maroney share two children: son Cy, 3, and a baby, born in early 2024, whose sex and name they have not revealed.

While the couple keeps their relationship pretty private, Lawrence spoke publicly about her husband for the first time in June 2019 following their engagement.
"Well, he's just the best person I've ever met in my whole life," she told Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of X-Men: Dark Phoenix. She added that it was "a very, very easy decision" to say "yes" when Maroney proposed.
In a November 2021 interview with Vanity Fair, Lawrence shared a low-key thing she enjoys doing with her husband.
"I really enjoy going to the grocery store with him," she said. "I don't know why, but it fills me with a lot of joy. I think maybe because it's almost a metaphor for marriage. 'Okay, we've got this list. These are the things we need. Let's work together and get this done.' "
The couple stepped out together for a rare public date night at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday, Jan. 11. They were photographed sitting side by side at their table inside the Beverly Hilton hotel venue.
Maroney wore a classic black tuxedo and bow tie, and Lawrence turned heads in a daring sheer nude gown with floral embroidery.
