The incident occurred when the couple still had three hours left of their special

Jaymes Vaughan is going to need some new pants in the new year.

The 42-year-old musician and husband of actor Jonathan Bennett rang in the New Year in Times Square alongside the Mean Girls star. The pair were co-hosting a live New Year’s Eve special for TSQ.org when Vaughan experienced a wardrobe malfunction.

“If you just saw me make that face on camera in Times Square, this is why,” Vaughan said in an Instagram video. “I felt something go in the middle of that last live hit.”

In the clip, Vaughan turned to show his green velvet pants had a large tear across the back.

“Is it bad or is it good?” Vaughan asked several people off-camera.

He captioned the video, “And we still got 3 more hours of the show to go. #SendPants.”

Luckily, Vaughan’s coat covered the rip and the wardrobe malfunction didn’t take away from his overall look.

“Face beat within an inch of my life. Excited to be hosting alongside my baby again,” Vaughan captioned several photos alongside Bennett. “We are live in Times Square for New Year’s Eve on TSQ.org right now.”

The "S.O.S." singer jokingly added in another Instagram caption, “Jonathan’s back hosting Times Square and I’m back riding coattails.”

And rip or no rip, the couple were able to snag a sweet New Year’s Eve kiss at the end of the night.

“New year. Same favorite person,” Bennett captioned photos of himself kissing his husband, whom he married in 2022, at midnight.

Already thinking ahead to next year’s show, Vaughan shared the clip of his ripped pants on his Instagram Stories, writing, “Somebody set a reminder December 31, 2026 to remind me to pack pants with some stretch in em please.”
