Kaia Gerber says her family’s concerns about the supernatural went well beyond a little superstition.
The 24-year-old model and actress said during an appearance on the Mitch Churi Chat Show that she has had strange experiences since childhood and once even underwent what she described as an exorcism.
Gerber joked that she seems to attract "beings from other dimensions in a very casual and chill way," before revealing that her connection to the paranormal apparently started when she was young. "I was told I was possessed as a child," she said, adding that she’s been "haunted" her whole life.

Gerber then described the unusual way the alleged exorcism was carried out. "Do you know how they did the exorcism? They played a didgeridoo all over me, that’s how they did the exorcism," she said.
She made clear that she was being serious about the experience. "That actually did happen. I’ve never talked about it, but that actually did happen."

Her mother, supermodel Cindy Crawford, apparently did not dismiss the possibility of something supernatural happening to her daughter.
Gerber said Crawford gave her holy water when she was filming American Horror Story: Double Feature in 2021 because she was worried the horror production could leave her vulnerable to being possessed. The daughter of Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber is currently promoting her latest television project, FX’s The Shards.

The series, created by Ryan Murphy and author Bret Easton Ellis, is adapted from Ellis’ 2023 novel. Gerber stars alongside Homer Gere, the 26-year-old son of actor Richard Gere.

Their casting comes with an unusual Hollywood connection of its own. Crawford and Richard Gere were married before either Kaia or Homer was born. The actors wed in 1991 and divorced in 1995.
Crawford later married Rande Gerber in May 1998. They have two children, Kaia and Presley Gerber, 27. Richard Gere shares Homer with his former wife, Carey Lowell.
Homer said he decided to bring up the family history almost immediately after meeting Kaia.
"Twenty minutes into knowing each other, I was like, ‘Should we just acknowledge the fact that our parents were married?’" he told Vogue.
The conversation apparently did not last long. "She was like, ‘Yeah. Cool.’ And that was it," he shared.
Despite the decades-old connection between their famous parents, Kaia and Homer have since been working together as co-stars on “The Shards.”
The series marks another dark project for Gerber after her previous work in the American Horror Story franchise — the same job that prompted Crawford to send her daughter to set with holy water.
The Shards airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EDT on FX and is also available on Hulu.
