Karlie Kloss has put the longstanding feud rumors with Taylor Swift to rest once and for all. Despite the alleged online talk that the two had a falling-out and were not seen together, she was invited to the Bad Blood singer’s marriage to Travis Kelce earlier this month.

When asked about their bond, she cleverly offered insight into their once-strained friendship. The discreet comments about their relationship show that their misunderstandings are in the past and that they continue to be friends.

Karlie Kloss Calls Taylor Swift Her ‘Friend’

On July 28, Karlie Kloss appeared on The Today Show to promote her new children’s book, Spaghetti Code, and share her inspiration for writing it. One of the co-hosts asked her about the “wedding of the summer,” referring to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding.

“Listen, I try to protect the privacy of my friends’ personal lives,” the supermodel replied. “But what I will say is that they’re an amazing couple and I’m so happy for them.” The brief comment about the Cruel Summer singer’s marriage clears confusion about their current relationship, as she was one of the few people invited to the grand wedding at Madison Square Garden on July 3.

Kloss’ words add meaning after an insider told Hola! that Swift has been adding names to her wedding list with a specific philosophy in mind. They explained, “Taylor has meticulously gone through her wedding guest list because the people she wants at her wedding are the people she hopes will remain in her life forever.”

They added that some of her friendships have become “strained for various reasons,” referring to Blake Lively’s controversy with Justin Baldoni, which dragged the singer in as well. Consequently, the Opalite singer decided to snub The Age of Adaline actress from her wedding guest list.

Though the reason behind their potential rift remains under wraps, Swift had explained that she can bury the hatchet with an honest apology. In an essay for Elle, she wrote, “It’s so easy to just apologize and move on. Try not to say ‘I’m sorry, but…’ and make excuses for yourself.”

She urged that a “sincere apology” can help prevent the breaking of the “trust” one places in friendships and relationships.

‘Don’t Believe Everything You Read’

Taylor Swift and Karlie Kloss were close friends in the 2010s and appeared together almost every till the 2016s. Soon, rumors began to circulate in the years that followed that they were not photographed together, according to People.

In 2018, during an exclusive interview with The New York Times, she said she had spent time with the singer on vacation and even sat courtside together at a New York Knicks game. She hushed the online rumors, saying, “Don’t believe everything you read.”

A few months later, she put the rumors to rest once and for all, posting a backstage selfie on her Instagram. The caption read, “No one puts on a show like @taylorswift … Nashville was out of this world, I am SO proud of you.”
