Kelly Clarkson returned to the stage for the first time amid her feud with the Brooklyn store where she claims she received the Pretty Woman treatment
While the store, Art of Play, called the interaction with the pop star a “misunderstanding,” Clarkson responded by calling the store a “liar”

Kelly Clarkson made her triumphant return to the stage four days after her ongoing feud with a Brooklyn store called Art of Play began.
Per fan-captured Instagram footage, the pop star appeared joyful as she performed “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You),” “My Life Would Suck Without You” and more tracks at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
During the Wednesday, Oct. 14 set, Clarkson, 44, sported velvet trousers and a glittery black top adorned with fringed sleeves.
“Are you all ready for a good night?” the former television host asked before the crowd cheered.
On Oct. 10, Clarkson shared an X post about her alleged experience at the Brooklyn store Art of Play.
“Just drove all the way to Brooklyn to check out this store I thought looked really rad and had a few things in mind to buy and literally was looked at as if I couldn’t afford it and was told he could find something comparable for me,” she wrote at the time. “Wow, dude. You’re an idiot and just lost a huge sale.”
“But y’all should go check out Art of Play in Brooklyn if you enjoy being treated like Julia Roberts character in Pretty Woman. For sure, check it out 👎,” Clarkson concluded the post, referencing the famous scene in the 1990 romcom Pretty Woman in which Julia Roberts‘ character Vivian is treated negatively at an upscale shop.
The item Clarkson was referring to was a dancing bird automaton named Molly, which allegedly had a price tag of $15,000.
Since the “Breakaway” hitmaker shared her alleged account of the events, Art of Play responded, referring to the interaction as a “misunderstanding.”
The store also allegedly offered to show Clarkson a different bird which costs $2,000, however, she claimed she “did not stick around long enough to see it.”
In an interview with New York magazine on Tuesday, Oct. 13, Adam Rubin, one of three owners of Art of Play, discussed Clarkson’s feud with the shop.

“This is an insane misunderstanding,” he told the outlet. “Nothing happened in this shop to justify her scolding our shopkeeper on the way out, but I can let that go.
Rubin added, “You know, everybody has a bad day. But things changed when she used her platform to attack us.”
He also discussed whether or not Molly was for sale, claiming that “so many people asked about it that we had put a price on it.”
Rubin said that the store “raised the price due to popular demand.
“It now costs $15 million,” said Rubin.
That same day, independent journalist Pablo Torre shared footage of the interaction publicly. The recording, which does not include audio, shows Clarkson spending roughly 4 minutes and 50 seconds in the store.
Rubin told PEOPLE that Clarkson was “welcome anytime” at his store on Wednesday, Oct. 14.

A source exclusively told PEOPLE on Sunday, Oct. 12 that the three-time Grammy winner making the situation public was a rare move for her.
“She’s usually very private and public drama like this isn’t her,” the source said at the time. “She’s clearly so ticked off that she couldn’t keep quiet about it.”
The source added that “everyone is surprised by how much this whole thing has escalated.”
