While Kylie Kelce is known for her passion for the Philadelphia Eagles and her marriage to retired center Jason Kelce, she recently learned that she is in the same “wives and girlfriends” club with Scandal star Kerry Washington.
Kylie had Washington as a guest on her Not Gonna Lie podcast on Thursday, Oct. 1, where they discussed their husbands’ connection.
“I was so excited when I realized that our husbands played together,” Kylie told the actress.
“They were in Philly together, yeah, so for like two years they were together,” Washington shared, adding, “And I asked Nnamdi this weekend. I was like, did you? Because I didn’t know. I was like, ‘Did you guys play together?’ He was like, ‘Yes, we played together for two years.’ ”

Washington’s husband, Nnamdi Asomugha, is a retired NFL cornerback who played for the Eagles, the Oakland Raiders and the San Francisco 49ers.
“He said when he went to Philly was actually your husband’s rookie year,” Washington explained. “And he was like, ‘I just remember being so impressed with him because as a rookie, you don’t always see guys who have that much maturity and leadership at such a young age.’ I thought that was so nice. I wanted to share that.”

Kylie, who shares daughters Wyatt, 6, Elliotte, 5, Bennett, 3, and Finn, 1, with Jason, smiled at the compliment, but couldn’t help noting, “That’s very sweet. I was really hoping you were gonna come in with some dirt because we love to just find something to just like go back to my husband and be like, ‘Really, you did that?’ ”
Washington laughed, adding that her husband’s compliments are sincere.
“Nnamdi doesn’t, he’s not like freewheeling with the compliments and he has really high standards when it comes to leadership and maturity,” Washington said. “It means a lot for him to say that.”
A diehard Philly fan, Kylie, of course, had to find out who the couple roots for now that Asomugha is retired.

“We loved our time in Philly. We love the Eagles, we root for the Eagles,” Washington shared. “Philly holds a really special place in my heart. I loved our apartment in Philly.”
However, Washington added, “We root for a lot of teams because of him. He retired, he played for the Raiders for over a decade and retired with the Raiders. That’s a team that I really love.”
