After a report by the Daily Mail came to light about the former First Gentleman of South Dakota, Bryon Noem, reportedly taking part in conversations with adult entertainers and OnlyF*ns models by paying them thousands of dollars and cross-dressing, his wife, Kristi Noem, filed for divorce on September 28, 2026, in South Dakota's Hamlin County, following a heads-up by her attorney in April 2026.

According to the New York Post, Bryon Noem's lawyer, Tim Bottum, revealed in a statement that the former Homeland Security secretary's estranged husband Bryon is not quite satisfied with Kristi Noem's decision to file for divorce from him; however, he would like to share his views on the whole matter, hoping to come to a peaceful agreement in private. Tim Bottum's statement read:

"Bryon is saddened that the marriage is ending and hopes for a private and amicable resolution. If court proceedings become necessary, Bryon will welcome the opportunity to truthfully share his perspective."

Bryon's lawyer further added:

"Bryon’s priority is to protect the family and move forward as loving parents and grandparents."

According to the New York Post, after Bryon Noem's online activities, including cross-dressing and his interaction with sex workers and adult entertainers, came to public attention, Kristi Noem's representative at the time, during a conversation with The Post, revealed that she, along with their family, was in shock and was extremely upset, and said:

"The family was blindsided by this, and they ask for privacy and prayers at the time."

Kristi Noem, who was married to Bryon for over three decades, shares a son and two daughters with him. Bryon faced backlash after his reported unexpected online behavior and actions came to light,

Kristi had been fired as Homeland Security secretary by President Trump in March 2026 following a grilling session at a congressional hearing about her alleged ties with Corey Lewandowski. She declined to answer the questions regarding her alleged relationship with Lewandowski at the congressional hearing, according to the New York Post, who had also reported on their alleged relationship along with other trusted outlets like The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, CBS News and others.

"People know me and we are such a transparent family. I don't know of another elected official that puts their family life out there, with their kids. All the funny, awkward, difficult moments."
