Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke sit down on camera less than two weeks after she confirmed her secret romance with West Wilson and denied an affair
Their meet-up is the first scene in the new Summer House spinoff, In the City
The episode jumps back in time and shows the pair celebrating their fourth wedding anniversary, where Amanda reveals that she's temporarily moved out to work on their relationship
Amanda Batula breaks her silence about the timing of her romance with West Wilson.
In the opening scene of the Summer Housespinoff, In The Cityon May 19, news headlines flash of Amanda, 34, and Kyle Cooke's divorce (they announced their split after four years of marriage in January) as well as the shocking revelation that followed: On March 31, Amanda and costar West Wilson, 31, confirmed their secret romance.
It cuts to a clip of Amanda and Kyle separately on Watch What Happens Live. During Amanda's February episode, she told host Andy Cohen that she's likely to date before Kyle. The following month, Kyle said he didn't believe the rumors about Amanda and West, and West later appeared on WWHL, calling Amanda a "friend."
The show then picks up cameras on April 9, when Amanda arrived at Kyle's apartment. He tells her he's worried about her amid the news. "I'm worried about me too," she replies.
Kyle explains that he invited her over to "clear things up" about their relationship and how it panned out during the 10th season of Summer House, which was airing at the time. "You looked like you're done with me."
Amanda says that it's "so frustrating" to hear that, because "I gave our relationship everything I had, because I wanted the relationship to work so badly."

"The idea of not existing with you in my life was so impossible for me to wrap my head around," Amanda says while tearing up. "It's what made it so hard to like call it quits." She notes that's why she was behaving "so f---ing messy."
She continues: "I was so afraid that once we ended things, we would just be out of each other's lives forever, and like I couldn't handle that."
Kyle replies that there were moments during both the summer and fall when he thought, "Damn, she wasn't just one foot out, she was fully out the door." Amanda denies what he was saying, explaining that she "was done to an extent."
"I was tired, I had nothing left in me to fight," she says. "But I was still trying to give it everything I had."
Kyle asks if there was validity to the rumors that she had an affair "even if it was an emotional affair" with West in the months leading up to Thanksgiving, because he heard otherwise.
Tearful Amanda interrupts and denies his claims, saying, "Nothing was happening. I was so committed to you throughout the whole thing, and all I wanted was for it to make it work, and for you to even question my, like, faithfulness in any capacity, just like really f---ing hurts."
"That's not the type of person that I am. Like, I would step out on you or cheat," she says, adding, "I've been cheated on by you."
Kyle interjects, "I had a one-night stand." But Amanda says that he "made out with someone" while they were married, and there's a video documenting it. "My point is, I would never do that to someone else."
He then reassures her that he knows she's "not a bad person," but he thinks she was "reckless and thoughtless."
"But in all of this, I'm still trying to be a good friend to you," he says, with Amanda thanking him. "I worry about you, I worry about your mental health, I worry about you," he said, as Amanda told him she appreciated his support but it's not his "responsibility."
Kyle begins to get choked up as he tells her he'd still support her. "Just know that, like, everything that happens here forward is because I care about you. It's not because I'm like, 'Oh, maybe we rekindle things,' " he said. "It's because I care."

"I know," Amanda says. "I care about you in the same f---ing way. We love each other, because there's a version of each of us that we both fell in love with for a f---ing reason." As Kyle wipes away his tears, he says, "It just makes me so upset that someone else gets like the version that I fell in love with."

The episode then flashes back to September 2025, when In The City began production. Amanda catches up with Lindsay Hubbard as the pair go grocery shopping together with Lindsay's daughter, Gemma. During the errand, Lindsay, 39, asks for an update on Amanda and Kyle's relationship after they left the Hamptons. Amanda explains that she stayed in a hotel for two nights, shocking Lindsay.
"I didn't want to fall into the routine of going back to the apartment, diving into the same old business. Nothing ever gets discussed," she says. "Obviously, we're going to couples counseling right now. But she made a comment to us in therapy, where she was like, 'You guys hate each other.'" Lindsay, with her mouth agape, asks, "She said that?"
Amanda then reveals that she and Kyle had a conversation after therapy, in which Kyle said she should move out of their apartment. Lindsay truthfully shared her opinion, telling Amanda, "It might be too late" to tackle their relationship problems in couples therapy.
It's later revealed in the episode that, during the same conversation, Amanda hadn't paid rent and other expenses for the last three years. This prompted Kyle to total it up and backcharge her $117,000, which she paid.
Meanwhile, in the middle of the episode, Amanda and Kyle are seen coming back from therapy, where they were advised to return the next day. Kyle called it "not the greatest sign."
Amanda replies by revealing the therapist said they're "moving backward." She says that her frustration was with his decision to take a DJ gig the night before and come home at 4 a.m. that morning. "Here I am at therapy, trying to make it work because I don't want to f---ing call a f---ing quits. But you're not giving me any hope."
Amanda breaks down crying, while Kyle says, "You're struggling in your ways. I'm struggling in mine. I just want to be happy, and I want to feel like you want to be with me." Amanda quickly replies, explaining that she wouldn't be in therapy if she didn't want to try. She decides not to go to the party with their friends because she didn't "want to put on a face," leaving Kyle heading there alone.

The episode concludes with Amanda and Kyle celebrating their fourth wedding anniversary. Kyle explains that, regardless of their relationship issues, they were going to go on a date to commemorate the day.
"I actually feel like we're in a decent place, heading into this anniversary because we've gotten some of the things off our chest," Kyle says in his confessional. "We're both optimistic, which is great, because that was not the case just a couple of weeks ago." Meanwhile, Amanda says they were celebrating the occasion to prove to anyone who thought they'd break up three years into marriage.
During their date, Amanda reveals she doesn't think the therapy is working and that she's "felt lower than" she has in a "really long time." She notes that going back to the apartment with him and doing their routines is "difficult," and "it's not going the way I want to."
So she's going to move out. "This isn't permanent," she says, proposing just a month of living apart. "This is not to end the relationship, this is something that I think that needs to be done to help us."

"I'm not doing this to run away, I'm doing this cause I want this to work out," she says, explaining that she wants to go on dates and spend time together. "I'm doing it," she declares as Kyle tried to give his "blessing."
Kyle admits in his confessional that he doesn't know how to "feel or act" in this situation, and learns to "embrace" Amanda's decision. "It feels extreme. I'm not sold on this being the solution. I've never heard of a couple physically separating but not 'separating,' and using that as a tool to get back together. But maybe this is what we need."As the episode comes to a close and teases the upcoming season, tensions between the couple seem to rise. In one conversation, Amanda notes, “If you come for me, I'll come for you," despite choosing not to have a prenup.
Prompting Kyle to say, “That would be a losing battle,” Amanda quipped back, “Are you threatening me?”
