According to an insider, Leonardo DiCaprio skipped the BAFTAs post-ceremony, which many attendees described as falling short of sophisticated expectations. The attendees complained about the lack of star power, the bland atmosphere, and the largely plant-based menu, which was a disappointment. DiCaprio was nominated for the best actor category in One Battle After Another but didn’t win. The film took home six BAFTA awards out of 14 nominations.

Sources suggest Leonardo DiCaprio skipped BAFTAs afterparty

Sources told RadarOnline that DiCaprio didn’t attend the BAFTAs afterparty, which they described as an ultra-private get-together in London. He lost the Best Actor category to Robert Aramayo for his performance as John Davidson in I Swear. Moreover, several attendees told the outlet that this time the afterparty didn’t meet expectations and seemed to have been cut back on budget.

A guest said, “You can tell the budget had been pulled back. In previous years, each table felt like part of the show – elaborate designs inspired by the nominated films, towering centerpieces, dramatic lighting. It always looked breathtaking. This time it felt stripped down and improvised, with artificial greenery and cheap-looking lamps that didn’t exactly scream prestige.”

A tipster claimed that early on, the afterparty used to have a very cinematic vibe of its own, but this time it felt “flat.” While they further acknowledged that the event organizers were mindful about spending and sustainability, it failed to position the party as a prestigious night. They describe it more as “a corporate event” than a celebration.

Speaking about the vegan menu, another guest added, “Honestly, it was disappointing. I barely touched my plate because it just wasn’t very good. In previous years, the standard has been so much higher – you expected restaurant-quality food at the very least. This felt like a serious step down.”

One of the guests mentioned that sustainability shouldn’t have to come at the expense of good taste. They also complained about the quantity of food. The guests noted that more people were throwing the food away than eating it. Another guest added, “When you’re hosting some of the most recognizable faces in the industry, you expect the meal to feel abundant and indulgent. Instead, it came across as restrained, almost austere, without the refinement you’d associate with fine dining.”
