Pete Davidson has been named a new ambassador for Crocs and stars in the brand's latest campaign
He tells PEOPLE he's been a fan of the brand for at least a decade because of how comfortable the clogs are
Davidson says his style is all about comfort — and he hates wearing suits and tuxes
Pete Davidson is all about comfort.
The How to Rob a Bank star, 32, jokes that in an effort to take care of his feet, he often turns to a trusty pair of Crocs. His affinity for the comfort-forward shoe is why he was all too happy to say yes when the brand reached out for its newest campaign.
"When did I start hating my feet?" Davidson wonders aloud while trying to recall how long he's been a fan of Crocs. "At least the last 10 years."

In the campaign, Davidson steps into the role of brand ambassador, wearing the Classic Clog with socks, including in a fun video where he posits that Crocs are so versatile that they even work for a wedding. That statement wasn't just for fun for the brand — the comedian truly believes that.
"I just think everybody tries too hard and everyone's uncomfortable, and I'm tired of hearing everyone complain about [weddings]," Davidson tells PEOPLE. "Dudes complain about wearing suits and girls complain about wearing heels and how tight this dress is, and I can't breathe. And it's so hard to take a s--- or sit down or whatever. All right, just put on some Crocs then."
Davidson is a classic guy, usually reaching for his black or white clogs (no Jibbitz, though), and sometimes he'll even wear one of each. He'd even be willing to wear the Crocs on a red carpet, and if he has his choice, he's pairing them with a tracksuit. (He's not joking about his love of comfort.)
"If you ever see me in a suit or a tux, I have been forced, and there's, like, legal ramifications for me to be wearing a suit," he says. "I will try whatever I can to get out of a suit. I don't like them. If you like to look nice and get nice things, that's totally cool. It's not my bag, as they say."

Davidson's role as ambassador continues Crocs' Wonderfully Unordinary initiative, which marks the brand's "next era of self-expression and celebrates individuality, instinct and the confidence to experience life in your own way," per a press release.

Crocs invited Davidson to share his own creative expression within the campaign, he says.
"It's just nice to work with brands that don't take themselves too seriously and let you kind of have fun," he says. "They let me and my writing partners, Dave Sirus and Joey Gay, just kind of have fun and be silly, and I could be myself. That's when the best campaigns happen — when it doesn't look forced or weird. Smart brands are smart enough to know that the comedy writers' ideas will probably be better than theirs."
Despite not wanting to go too far with dressing up, Davidson, who recently welcomed his first child with girlfriend Elsie Hewitt, has been leaning a little more into a fashionable era. The Saturday Night Live alum attended the Cult Gaia show during New York Fashion Week in February, marking only the third time he's attended a show.
He sat front row alongside the likes of Lukas Gage, the Tell Me Lies cast and Becky G. He jokes it was a "spur of the moment" thing because one of his friends works for the brand. Davidson admits he was curious about Fashion Week because of how much chaos it creates in the city.

"I'm not a hater, I'm just kind of like, 'What's going on that it's okay to make the city a living hell for nine days?'" he says. Alas, he can admit that he had a great time at the show and "everyone looked fabulous."
"I enjoyed it, and I'm not proud of it, but I had a really good time."
