Pete Davidson is sharing rare comments about facing drama from his former girlfriend Kim Kardashian’s ex-husband, Ye, whom she was divorcing when they briefly dated.
Davidson, 32, dated Kardashian, 45, from October 2021 to August 2022 after meeting on the set of “Saturday Night Live.” Their short-lived romance came on the heels of Kardashian filing for divorce from Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, in February 2021. Kardashian and Ye share four children together, and their divorce was finalized in November 2022.

While Davidson and the reality TV star were together, Ye, 49, repeatedly took aim at the comedian via violent music lyrics, social media posts and derogatory nicknames. Ye released a claymation music video for his song “Eazy,” in which he kidnapped, buried alive and decapitated a figure resembling Davidson, in March 2022.
Speaking with Variety, Davidson recalled how Ye’s wrath pushed him.
“What tripped me out is I was super open about mental stuff — everyone knows this about me — and it’s like he was [saying], ‘Kill yourself.’ And he did push me,” he said in the story published Wednesday.
Davidson has been candid about struggling with borderline personality disorder (BPD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), chronic depression, as well as past battles with substance abuse.

When asked if he thinks he’s the reason behind Ye’s numerous antisemitic remarks, the “King of Staten Island” star chuckled — and then offered a deeper analysis.
“What people don’t understand about that dude — and I’m not one-one-millionth as talented or influential or powerful as that dude, but I have dealt with a fraction of what he’s had to deal with public-wise — is that’ll do it,” he explained. “He’s also lost a parent and has mental stuff, and I don’t know how he deals with it or who he has around him.”

Ye’s mom, Donda West, died in November 2007, while Davidson’s dad, Scott Matthew Davidson, died on Sept. 11, 2001, during the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City.
Davidson continued, “Probably a lot of people who want to be his friend. I’ve had that. When people are so far up your *** and constantly pushing and provoking you and not showing you love, you want to burn it all. I think it got to a certain point where he was like, ‘Leave me the **** alone. I’m just going to say crazy ****.’”
Davidson added that “there’s zero way [Ye] really feels like that.”

Davidson quipped about why being Ye’s target ultimately helped Kardashian during the divorce.
“I like to think I got that one out of the way for her because whoever that guy was going to be was gonna get it,” he said. “I cleared the path for her to get back into the dating pool.”

Kardashian is currently dating Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton.
Earlier in the interview, Davidson compared the men who’ve survived a relationship with any of the Kardashian women to the Marines.
“Look, man, that’s a really tough atmosphere if you’re not game,” he shared. “One of the things I love about Kim and that whole family is they’re like, ‘This is what we do.’ I found that very attractive and mature.”
Clarifying that he was “never subjected to anything I didn’t want to be a part of,” he called Kardashian “super respectful,” but noted that he ultimately couldn’t endure the “craze of that [ultra famous] lifestyle.”
“Being followed everywhere, having security and looking over your shoulder — for a guy with mental stuff, and at the time drug problems, [it] was a little too much for me,” he added. “But we’re cool, and I have a lot of love for her, and I knew what I was getting into.”
