Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will soon be visiting Australia for various events. This will mark their first visit to the country after stepping down as the working royals. They had earlier visited Down Under in 2018 when they were still part of the monarchy. However, an expert believed that with their upcoming trip, the Sussexes could rile up some senior royals.
Expert warns Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could rile up senior royals
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s upcoming trip to Australia is not only related to a “number of private, business, and philanthropic engagements,” but also could lead to some new TV and film projects. Due to this, royal expert Richard Palmer feels the Sussexes could rile up senior members of the royal family as they could overshadow some key moments for the royal family back in the U.K.
“Their Australia trip is one of, if not the, most anticipated royal events of the year,” Palmer told the Mirror. He added that with this visit, the Duke and the Duchess of Sussex “want to prove their critics wrong so will be hoping it is a huge success. If it is, it will be Meghan’s revenge.”

According to the outlet, their visit will overshadow the monarchy in various ways as the centenary of the birth of Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Louis’ eighth birthday, and Prince William and Kate Middleton’s 15th wedding anniversary all fall within the same seven-day period. As a result, “there still seems to be an awful lot of tension with other members of the family and the royal household.”
After visiting Australia, the Sussexes are expected to participate in various engagements, including Markle’s guest appearance at a women-only weekend retreat and Harry’s keynote speech at the InterEdge Psychosocial Safety Summit. Moreover, the actor might even launch her As Ever lifestyle brand there.
This might allegedly “annoy the King and other members of the family,” believes Palmer, as the Sussexes will attract a “lot of media attention while they’re out in Australia,” overshadowing the royal events taking place in the U.K.
