Rule for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding guests revealed

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are asking their wedding guests to stay off their phones for the duration of the celebration.

The couple, who started dating in 2023 and got engaged in August 2025, are expected to host hundreds of people at MSG on Friday.

A source told PEOPLE that the iconic concert venue has been "transformed" ahead of the major event.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are reportedly asking their guests to follow this rule at their wedding.

An insider told PEOPLE that their loved ones are asked to not bring any phones into Madison Square Garden for their big day. "Guests have been told there will be a phone check upon arrival," the insider said.

PEOPLE also reported that, according to multiple sources, guests at their midtown Manhattan wedding — which will feature 500 to 999 guests, according to a permit —have been told the dress code is black tie.

As dozens of delivery trucks unloaded decor outside of MSG, there was speculation that Swift and Kelce were building a castle inside of the venue. However, a source told PEOPLE that wasn't true.

"But it looks very special," inside the arena, per the report. "They have grass, carpets and canopies, and it looks like a place where you'd get married. There's a stage set up, but it's special."

Another source mentioned that the arena, known for hosting concerts, hockey games, and basketball games, has been "transformed."

"I've never seen it look so different," the source told PEOPLE.

Preparations for the massive wedding have been underway since Monday. The New York Timesreported that Swift and Kelce will be hosting a smaller event at MSG on Thursday evening at 6 p.m. and then a much larger one on Friday night for hundreds of guests.

Family and friends of the soon-to-be newlyweds have also started to arrive in New York ahead of the reported wedding. Sabrina Carpenter, Ed Sheeran, and Aaron Dessner have been spotted in recent days.

Donna Kelce, the mother of the groom, was also seen arriving in New York on Thursday afternoon.

Kelce and Swift began dating in the summer of 2023. After two years together, Kelce popped the question. He and Swift announced their engagement on Instagram with a series of enchanting photos taken in Kelce's backyard, transformed into a dreamy garden.

"Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married," they captioned their August 2025 post.
