For Sarah Pidgeon, playing Carolyn Bessette Kennedy in Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette was transformative for more reasons than one.
The actress appeared on the Feb. 19 edition of The Run-Through with Vogue, where she talked about the iconic style of the beloved wife of John F. Kennedy Jr.
When asked what she "inherited" from Carolyn's style, Pidgeon explained that the late Calvin Klein publicist always stood out despite the clothes she was wearing.

"She had some amazing coats," Pidgeon said. "Clothes were very well-tailored. They were always in great condition."
"Even with her Levi's, there was a patch on where the hole was," Pidgeon continued. "I don't know if she bought them like that or if she, like, took 'em to get mended. But I think the thing that strikes me about Carolyn is that you really see her first despite wearing very architectural pieces like a lot of Yohji [Yamamoto]."
"You see her face and her aura immediately," she continued, agreeing that the "clothes don't wear her."
While speaking with PEOPLE earlier this month, Pidgeon said that the Yamamoto pieces Carolyn wore were her "favorite."

"And I'm not sure if she was aware of this, but Yamamoto describes designing clothing as armor for women," added Pidgeon.
For the actress, Carolyn's clothing helped her step into her shoes, as it "really helped inform the character."

"I think understanding — or at least my interpretation of her relation to the press — she was fiercely private, so I think it made so much sense, and you could feel it when you put the clothes on," Pidgeon said. "It makes you stand in a different way, and it sort of holds you in and protects you."
According to a synopsis, Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette follows John and Carolyn’s "connection, which was immediate, electric, and undeniable."
"As their love story unfolded on a national stage, the intense fame and media attention that came along with it threatened to rip them apart," the description continues.
