Sharon Stone got candid about getting an abortion as a teenager.

Admitting that she did not receive robust sex education in her youth, she said she wasn’t aware of her pregnancy until her boyfriend noticed her weight gain.

She criticized the stripping of reproductive rights in recent years, saying, “If men got pregnant, you could get an abortion from a vending machine.”

Sharon Stone is opening up about her experience getting an abortion as a teenager.

The Casino actress shared her lack of sex education as a young person, which led to her getting pregnant. She said neither she nor her boyfriend at the time were even aware of her pregnancy at first.

“He didn’t have any knowledge or information that I should have some kind of birth control,” she recalled to Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson on the Wednesday episode of IMO. “And I had no [idea]. Like when I tell you I could have been the girl who gave birth in the bathroom stall.”

In fact, even her parents were unsuspecting of her pregnancy. She shared that she only noticed because her boyfriend had said she gained weight.

“My parents thought it was the freshman 15, like no clue,” Stone said.

As reproductive rights have been stripped back in recent years, the 68-year-old emphasized the suffering that women have had to experience due to a lack of access to care and information.

“Now we don’t wanna give women care, OB- GYN care, and we wanna prosecute women for having a miscarriage,” she said. “What kind of arcane bulls--- is this? If men got pregnant, you could get an abortion from a vending machine.”

The Basic Instinct actress first opened up about her abortion in her 2021 memoir The Beauty of Living Twice. She shared that she had to travel to Ohio because she struggled to secure an appointment in her home state of Pennsylvania. The recovery from the procedure was difficult and isolating at times.

“I was bleeding all over the place and far worse than I should have been, but this was a secret and I had no one to tell,” she wrote. “So I stayed in my room and bled for days. I was weak and scared and then just weak.”

She credits Planned Parenthood, which later opened a clinic near her hometown, with giving her the resources she needed to understand her sexual health.

“This, above all else, saved me: that someone, anyone, could talk to me, educate me,” she said. “No one ever had, about anything.”
