Teri Hatcher sat down with the hosts of The Skinny Confidential podcast, where she talked about aging and why she hasn't gotten plastic surgery yet
In her interview, she revealed why altering her appearance at 60 hasn't been her "instinct" while on her journey of "growth"
The actress also commented on transparency around plastic surgery: "When you're famous and you lie, you're sort of making the rest of us feel bad about ourselves"
Teri Hatcher isn't desperate to go under the knife anytime soon.
In her appearance on the Oct. 27 episode of The Skinny Confidential podcast, the Desperate Housewives star, 60, shared her honest outlook on aging and plastic surgery.
She explained: "When I look in the mirror and I think [about] what is lacking, what am I still struggling with, what would I like to be better at...how can I find peace...my answer is not a facelift. My answer to myself is internal work, it's intellectual work, it's emotional work."
Hatcher added that, if she felt like tweaking the "wrinkles" on her "neck," was the answer, she'd "probably" undergo a nip and tuck. "I have no judgement about it, but I know what I'm searching for. I just know that I have growth to continue to do as a human. My instinct isn't that the answer is in plastic surgery, which is why I'm not doing it."
"Being a woman is hard...aging is hard," she said to podcast co-host Lauryn Bosstick, who commended Hatcher's honesty. But, "I don't love when people aren't truthful about [getting cosmetic work done]," the actress said. "I respect your privacy, but the only reason is when you're famous and you lie, you're sort of making the rest of us feel bad about ourselves, because we look at you and we go, 'I guess I’m not drinking enough water' and that is unfair."

Transparency is a quality Hatcher prioritizes when she posts on social media because "many of us are comparing ourselves to what this fake perfect life that people are putting out on their Instagrams or Facebooks."
A friend recently asked why she tends to lean away from posting glam shots to her profile.
"I look like s---. I don't wear makeup," she said, adding that she doesn't always have on "the makeup and the fake hair and the boob lift and Spanx" in her everyday life. "And that's fun and is an extension of me and great to have it, but the real me is not that. I put those things out there because I want people to feel okay about just being themselves."

Hatcher made a perfect example of her philosophy in August when she posted several makeup-free photos in the hopes of encouraging her followers that “it’s okay to be real.”
"Every line…a story of real human effort, successes & flaws. Feel free to zoom in. Is one angle more forgiving? More 'beautiful?' How we frame beauty is everything — my perception? I choose gratitude for the time gifted in every wrinkle. I first put my naked face out there in 2010 — everyone told me I was crazy but 15 years later, I’m still here."
