Last June, The Valley stars Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick welcomed their first child into the world. As they quickly learned, being a parent is extremely difficult. These two are sleep-deprived, and even just leaving the house feels like a massive task, complete with all the baby gear and foggy new-parent brains. Likewise, their intimacy levels have decreased, which they both admitted during the Season 3 premiere.

Luke brought up the couple’s sex life on The Valley Season 3 premiere

Luke really wants to wine and dine Kristen again. But as Kristen explained, they have a baby now, so life can’t just return “back to normal” overnight. Even still, Luke explained in the Season 3 premiere, “Intimacy has been an issue for us.” And then their cameras cut to their dog happily humping his toy, gladly taking one for the team.

Like their pup, Luke is ready “to start moving in the direction of getting back to [their] old sex life.” Yet, Kristen is understandably not ready to leave their little girl home alone with a babysitter. She “understands Luke’s needs,” though. “But the actual thought of sex, I just pushed a baby out of my vagina,” she stressed, so her “head is just not there.”

Then, on the After Show, Kristen further acknowledged Luke’s frustrations. But as she explained, they did have sex. It just wasn’t the “engaging and fun” kind that Luke wanted. “You can’t have your cake and eat it too,” Kristen explained.

Her female costars all agreed.

Between constantly breastfeeding their daughter, the sore southernmost areas of her body, and the sheer exhaustion that is this lifestage, Kristen felt spent. So, “leave me alone,” she joked. Even still, for Luke, the “aggressive shutdown really stunk.”

The Valley airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo. It can be streamed on Peacock the next day.
