Tom Cruise recreated his Risky Business moves while dancing through The Jennifer Hudson Show’s signature Spirit Tunnel on Tuesday, Sept. 29
During his appearance on the show, the actor, 64, recalled dancing in his underwear as a kid and remembered filming every frame of the famous scene for the 1983 movie
Cruise also discussed his role in Digger, in which he stars alongside actors including Sandra Hüller, John Goodman, Emma D’Arcy and Jesse Plemons
Tom Cruise is reviving his iconic moves from Risky Business.
The actor, 64, appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show on Tuesday, Sept. 29, with him discussing his latest movie, Digger, as well as dancing through the show’s signature Spirit Tunnel.
When asked by Hudson whether he enjoyed the experience, the Mission: Impossible star replied, “I loved it. They had to pull me out of the spirit tunnel. I wanted to dance with more people. But I loved it. If you can’t enjoy the spirit tunnel, you’re not alive.”
Cruise mimicked choreography from the famous scene in 1983’s Risky Business, where his character, Joel Goodsen, danced around in his underwear to “Old Time Rock and Roll” by Bob Seger.
Speaking of Risky Business, Cruise said to Hudson, “I remember shooting it; I remember every frame of shooting this [scene]. I remember the director, Paul Brickman, giving me the opening frame, and I was like, ‘I got you, you know. I know where to go.’ ”
“Of course I did this as a kid; it was natural for me. I used to dance around in my underwear when no one was there… Doesn’t everyone do that?” Cruise added.
The Top Gun star went on to discuss working on Digger, in which he plays Digger Rockwell — an oil tycoon who endeavors to save the world from natural disaster and has a one-eyed senior cat named Maggie.

Cruise described the project as “the most original film I’ve ever seen,” and said it was one of the most “moving” movies.
“This character is outrageous,” Cruise added. “He says things that people may think about, don’t say out loud, things that they’ve never thought about and didn’t expect anything like that to come out loud. It’s just an amazing character and [the] twists and turns of it.”

Cruise described Alejandro González Iñárritu as a “brilliant filmmaker,” as well as praising the cast.
“Riz [Ahmed] is going to be on. Riz… Amazing cast these guys, amazing actors,” he added.
Hudson then asked about the film’s feline, Maggie, to which Cruise revealed his first reaction was, “What’s happening with this cat?”

“You could just see how [Alejandro’s] directing this cat. We had these puppeteers who were building sets for Maggie, and as I said, she just came to life, and he directed the cat as well as any actor that he directed on set,” Cruise recalled. “I’m just watching him, the whole behavior and everything.”
He described the experience of acting alongside the cat as “fun.”
“I was acting with that cat, and all of us are together, and he’s directing that cat,” Cruise said. “I’m going, ‘Boy, he’s directing the hell out of this cat.’ Like this cat is amazing in this scene.”
Cruise stars in Digger alongside Sandra Hüller, John Goodman, Emma D’Arcy and Jesse Plemons. The movieis in theaters Oct. 2.
