New details have been released following the death of Rob Lowe's 13-year-old niece earlier this week.
Fiona Harper Lowe died on Tuesday, September 29. Her parents, Hollywood actor Chad Lowe and his wife Kim Painter, said they were "deeply heartbroken" by their daughter's death. In a statement, the couple remembered Fiona as a smart, loving and creative teen, describing her as "the light of our lives."
"She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents," the statement said. "In fact, she was the light of our lives. Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time."

In a new update revealed in records from the Los Angeles' medical examiner’s office, which were viewed by The Sun US, Fiona died at a hospital in Los Angeles. The 13-year-old's cause of death has also now been revealed, with the teenager dying from an apparent suicide.
The medical examiner shared a statement with People Magazine which said Fiona was pronounced dead at 1.14 a.m. on Tuesday. The medical examiner said she died by suicide.

Fiona's parents, Chad and Kim, issued a heartbreaking statement following her death. "She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents," the statement said. "In fact, she was the light of our lives. Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time."
Chad and Kim also urged people to reach out for help if they are struggling with their mental health, writing, "If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health, please reach out to the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988."
After the news of Fiona's death was made public, fans took to X to share their condolences. One person wrote, "Omg, how devastating," while another posted, "This is absolutely terrible. I'm keeping the Lowe family in my thoughts tonight. RIP Fiona."

A third X user commented, "My heart breaks for precious Fiona and the unimaginable pain her family is going through. We never know what someone is secretly fighting. At just 13, she had so much life ahead. Holding Chad Lowe and his family close in my prayers tonight."
It's believed actor Rob Lowe, who is Chad's brother, rushed to be by his family's side when Fiona died. "Rob dropped everything," a source told Rob Shuter's Naughty But Nice Substack.
They added, "Chad is his little brother, and the second he heard, Hollywood stopped mattering. There was nowhere else Rob was going to be except by Chad’s side."
