The 2020 election was nearly six years ago, but President Donald Trump has not let go of his unsubstantiated claims that it was stolen from him.
Multiple court cases, experts and state audits have come to the same conclusion: former President Joe Biden beat Trump in the race. Even though Trump won back the White House in 2024, he continues on the drumbeat of a rigged election.
It prompted the intense exchange in Trump's June interview with NBC's "Meet the Press" that ended abruptly with Trump walking off set. In a viral exchange on July 15, Sen. Jon Ossoff pressed National Intelligence Director nominee Jay Clayton after he declined to answer a question about who won the 2020 election.
Now, 2020 grievances could be back on prime time with Trump's address to the nation on July 16. He said he would discuss election security in the address and it would include "really big news." Reuters and Axios reported he may release new intelligence about investigations into the 2020 elections.
But Trump already took many accusations to court, where he overwhelmingly lost. Here is a look back:

Trump lost over 60 court cases related to the 2020 election, report found
A group of eight politically conservative legal experts assessed the election fraud and miscount cases brought forward by Trump and his allies in the wake of the 2020 election. They produced "Lost, Not Stolen," a 2022 report that found, of 64 cases across six swing states brought forward by Trump and his supporters, all were lost except for one in Pennsylvania.

"Our conclusion is unequivocal: Joe Biden was the choice of a majority of the Electors, who themselves were the choice of the majority of voters in their states," the report states. "Donald Trump and his supporters have failed to present evidence of fraud or inaccurate results significant enough to invalidate the results of the 2020 Presidential Election."
Some cases were dismissed outright, and others were rejected on merit. The report broke it down as such:
20 were dimissed before a hearing on the merits
14 were dismissed upon request by Trump and his allies
30 cases were heard in court, 29 of them failed
The charges brought in these lost cases were broken into the following categories: fraud or ballots improperly counted; voting machines producing rigged results; absentee ballot or mail-in ballot irregularities; ineligible voters; and observers access blocked/failure to monitor polling places.
The successful case in Pennsylvania was procedural, not based on fraud, had too few votes to overturn the state results, according to the report's authors.
