WWE’s Blake Monroe Fires Back After AEW Star Toni Storm’s ‘Lifetime of Mediocrity’ Jab

Blake Monroe has no plans to let an old Toni Storm promo define her career, especially now that the former Mariah May has moved on to WWE. After one of Storm’s most brutal AEW promos resurfaced online, Monroe fired back with a message of her own.

During their heated AEW rivalry, Monroe and Storm regularly traded harsh verbal shots. Storm once made a harsh prediction about May’s future, claiming that May would spend the rest of her career being good but never great.

That old promo was reshared by @mariwrld on September 4, 2026. In the promo, Storm predicted that May’s career would continue, but she would never reach the highest level of success.

“You do not deserve the dignity of death. I sentence you to a lifetime of mediocrity. Your life will continue. Your career will continue, and it’ll be good, but never great. People will like you, but never love you, because the star that you are will not compare to this monster that you’ve become. So you will dwindle, be replaced, and be forgotten. Then one day, many years from now, someone will ask, whatever happened to Mariah May? She found out what happens when you try to kill God,” Storm said.

The promo would have played out during the storyline, but Monroe sees it differently now that she has started a new chapter of her career. She responded to the idea that fans would keep using an old scripted promo to judge her potential.

“What scripted promo will you cling on to when I become world champion?.”

The user who originally posted the clip soon clarified that the post was not meant as an attack on Monroe. The user showed support for the WWE star and said they wanted to see her win Money in the Bank, King of the Ring, and eventually a world championship.

When another fan took Monroe’s response as a possible hint that she could win Money in the Bank, Monroe made it clear that she has much bigger goals.

“I’m winning everything, I got my whole career ahead of me,” Monroe replied.

After making her name as Mariah May in AEW, Monroe has started a new chapter in WWE. The former NXT Women’s North American Champion made her main roster debut at SmackDown earlier this year and has yet to have her official in-ring debut. She is currently feuding with Giulia.
