Wynonna Judd found out about the latest addition to her family in a very 2026 way.

The country star admitted she found out her daughter, Grace Kelley, was expecting a second child on TikTok. Kelley is serving time in a Harrisonburg, Va., prison. News broke about her temporary release request to give birth being denied in August. Her due date was reportedly Aug. 16, and Judd wasn’t aware until very recently.

“I learned about it on TikTok,” Judd admitted in a cover story with PEOPLE. “Isn’t that crazy? I laid there, and I was shocked, just like you would imagine. And I cried and cried and cried and cried, because I have another grandbaby, I think.”

Kelley is serving a 15-month sentence for pleading guilty to a misdemeanor charge of driving with a suspended or revoked license following an October 2025 arrest, the latest in a series of legal troubles through the years. Judd currently has custody of Kelley’s 4-year-old daughter Kaliyah. She and her husband, Cactus Moser, are raising Kaliyah together.

“I miss her. I miss her desperately, and I’ve missed out on a lot of years because of the drug addiction,” she added.

Judd also spoke about her concern for her new grandchild. “I don’t know anything. I’m heartbroken,” she said. “And so I’m walking a very interesting walk right now, where I absolutely know very little.”

However, her love for Kelley hasn’t gone anywhere, despite her daughter allegedly cutting off contact with her in 2025. “Grace is my love, she’s my daughter, and I love her dearly.”

Elsewhere in her interview with PEOPLE, Judd got candid about helping Kelley through her years struggling with substance abuse. Her latest album, *The Hard Truth,* was partly inspired by Kelley’s experience.

“I’ve spent half a million dollars on programs trying to do the right thing, trying to do the next right thing. And meth is a bitch. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever experienced, and I just can’t believe it,” she said.

“But these songs come from that dark place, deep and dark.... And you think you can’t make it, but you somehow do by the grace of God.”

Watching Kayliah and Judd’s other granddaughter Hazel (her son Elijah Kelley’s daughter) spend time together brings her comfort and happiness.

“They are playing out in the yard, and I’m sitting there having my espresso martini and looking at them going, ‘I’m someone’s grandparent.’ It is so awesome to know that your life continues with these babies,” she told PEOPLE.
