"Love Island USA" voting kicked off with a hitch after Tuesday night's episode.

After the June 9 episode aired on Peacock and the first vote of the season was announced, fans noticedissues with the "Love Island USA" app. By the time voting opened at 10:30 p.m. E.T., many viewers were given a "network error," forced to re-register or told they had reached the maximum number of registrations.

After voting closed at 1 a.m. E.T., the show announced on social media that it was "actively working on" resolving the issue. "Stay tuned for updates."

Fans of the series vote for their favorite islanders or couples, and those who receive the fewest votes are at risk of being "dumped" from the show. New arrivals, known as "bombshells," enter the villa to test the bonds of existing relationships and can influence who stays on the series.

In the comments, some fans noted they had been trying to vote for three hours. Other users expressed who they were eager to save or get "out of my villa."

One user wrote, "At this point reopen it in the morning, people need to go to bed!"

By early Wednesday morning, the show announced voting had been extended.

"Your overwhelming enthusiasm for America's first vote caused the app to crash," the post read. "But don't worry, we are extending the voting window until 3 pm ET / 12 pm PT on Wednesday, June 10!"

Season 8 of the nearly nonstop reality series premiered June 2 with 11 "OG" islanders, down from the original 12 that had been announced due to one woman's removal days before the season premiere. One islander, Sean Reifel, has already been eliminated.
